Got to the DR Counsulate around 8:30am /appt 10:00am... be very careful with the "buscones" we almost got caught by them. They want us to show the papers to see if everthing was there.. they only wants money.. We should go prepare. well pass that one.. we get into the gate gave out the interview letter then we get into security.. the security guard very friendly... my husband was carried a big bag with all our evidence of relationship.. We look around and ours was the biggest one.. I think my husband was embarrassed but I always told him we better bring everything because we don't know if we are going to need it. Well got in.. we got number 262... the first called window 6 after 45 minutes.. spanish girl.. ask for my husband original birth certificate, marriage, passport, medical envolope, police certificate nothing else.... she didn't ask anything else.. just look at us.. look for our folder and stable everything together and asked us to sit down that we will be called by the same n... read complete review

I am the US petitioner.
Interview was scheduled at 8:30am and we arrived at 8:00am. A decent size line outside but moved quickly. After we went through security, we walked to an open courtyard that had people sitting on benches. Dont know why they were sitting but I asked the lady what to do and she just pointed me in. Once inside, we showed the paper and got number 280.
There was a lot of people inside and they were only at 150. So the wait began. We dressed in a shirt and tie and was probably only two of five people to wear a tie. But I thought we looked good lol. I saw people get called up to the window and asked to sit back down. The numbers went in order, except the other numbers were random. We waited for like two hours for our number to be called. We were called to window 3 and the young lady asked for: Birth Certficate, Buen Conducta, our phone numbers, my address, and the receipt from Banco Popular saying we paid for the VISA fee. I said I didnt... read complete review

Yesterday was our interview at the embassy at the Dominican Republic at 8:00am. We got to the embassy at around 6:00am and it was already packed. We brought our 1 year old son with us and got sent to a line for people with kids and got a chance to enter the embassy much sooner than expected. we got number 29 and waited for about 20 minutes for our number to be called. The first time they called us the person only requested my wifes paperwork (police cert, marriage cert and medical exam), baby's birth certificate and naturalization certificate and gave me back a packet that was label additional documents, and told me those were everything i had sent NVC that was not needed. He then advised us to sit down and wait to be called again. After about 40 minutes of wait after that, we were called again, this time it was the official. She was a very nice lady and smiled all the way. She looked at the papers and everything was in order, didnt ask a single question eiher to me or to my wife and j... read complete review

Our appointment was for 9am and we arrived at 8:20. It was super packed! I wished we'd have arrived earlier. The traffic on the street which the embassy is located on was full of traffic. As advised by others don't bring anything electronic. My husband left his phone and a few of our belongings in a business around the corner. They charged him 500 pesos. All the staff was very pleasant, everyone from the friendly security guards in the entrance to the CO who interviewed us. My biggest issue was the wait time. We didn't get interviewed till about 12:30. The positive part is if you are hungry there is a lady with a cart full of munchies to buy.
Before our actual interview, about 2 hours after arriving a nice Dominican lady collected our civil documents and asked us several simple questions (Things like if we had ever been married before, if we had kids together and our phone numbers/my husbands address). We had a bit of a scare when she said our marriage certificate hadn'... read complete review

Our interview was yesterday tuesday september 22 at 7am. I arrived to the country on Monday afternoon. We stayed at a really clean hotel in Gazcue called Hotel Riparbella. Very affordable and close to el malecon. We decided to take a cab to the embassy because it is now very far away and we are not from Santo Domingo so we dont really know it well and we were just too excited and preferred to relax and get driven ovee there. We got there at around 6:15 am, the lines were long already at that time. Geez.. people who had interviews at 9am were already there. That was insane. Be careful with the buscones they are everywhere and they will tell you that you need to"staple" your pictures and that you can do it for free at the "office" (there is no office) do not listen to these people. We do NOT have to staple anything. At exactly 7am lines started moving and they started letting people in. There is a lady crossing off the names on a list and I was given priority to go in because of huge pre... read complete review
