After almost 10 months, we finally had our interview. Our appointment time was 7:30AM, and we arrived about 6:20AM. 75-100 people were already in three different lines located outside the Embassy. Apparently there are two different sides of the building for different visas, and luckily my husband had been to the Embassy before and knew which side of the building to go to. There is no real signage, and the signs that were there made no sense. There was minimal to no help from Embassy employees, and it took about 40-45 minutes to get inside. There is an Embassy employee who takes your appointment cover letter, then issues a number.
I am American, and was one of the few there. I had a problem in the security line because I had a small disc drive in my purse. The security woman spoke no English, and my husband had already gone through security and was inside. I had to wave him down to come back out so he could translate for me. She made him take the hard drive back outside, ... read complete review

Here is my review....We got up at 6am we stayed at the marriott accross the street from the embassy. Before we left we said a prayer. Got there at 645am and went to line 4 we got lucky number 160 men and women were seperated to go into the building but I don´t know how this helps they had a mess during the security process the security guard saw cell phones in purses and she would check the wrong purses by the time she realized which one it was the person was already inside. Finally we were in the famous metal benches now they have cushion at least. at around 930 we were called to window number 25 to give his passport cedula banco popular receipt and police certificate. I had not paid the visa fee of 230 so she sent me to window 12 to pay the cc machine was not working and they have no atm in the building so I had to get a pass to go out and come back with the money that was 30 minutes wasted.once you are inside you can not leave the building unless they give you a pass. I paid the fee... read complete review

Appointment time was for 7:30am we drove from Santiago so we left at 430am, so here goes we got there around 650am found crazy lines outside so before deciding to get on any line we asked, while online they ask for the interview letter which is when u get the all so famous number ours was lucky number 24 which happenes to be my husbands bday which made him happy for some reason lol anyways to our surprise we were inside by 7am only 10 mins of waiting once inside the all so famous metal benches which to my surprise were comfortable. we sat down and 720am we were called to window 23 to give in paperwork, police certificate, cedula nd passports, then we were sent to window 13 for finger prints, then by 750am the fun begins the waiting for the interview, around 815am my husband goes omg am getting nervous and at that same instant our number is flashing to go to window 21. we get to window 21 a nice american lady is there she smiles and we get sworn in the questioning begin.

My fiance and I arrived at the consulate around 6am. There were not many people there yet. We asked one of the guards which line we should go in (which was the correct one!) and we then waited for 30 minutes or so when the consulate started to let people pass through security. The line moved very quickly and within 5 minutes, we had our lucky number: 203 and were sitting on the cushioned benches.
Our interview was scheduled at 6:45, and by 7:30 they had called us to the first window to hand in the forms DS156, DS156k, DS230, DS157, the police report, birth certificate, passport, cedula and banco popular receipts. They never asked me for a single piece of finanical support info (I had everything ready just in case, but was happy that it was not asked for). The man asked us a few questions to verify some of the info (both my fiance and my addresss and telephone numbers) and then told us to go pay the 80 dollars for the vids on the side windows and to wait until he called ... read complete review

Sorry for the long review
We woke up at 3:10am. Took a shower and were out the house by 3:45am. We drove down from Moca which is about 30 minutes from Santiago. We arrived at the Consulate at 6:30am. Upon arriving there were many buscones but of course we just ignored them. When you first arrive there are four lines you may enter. My husband and I were not sure which line to enter so he asked an officer there but they were very rude. They completely ignored him. I wanted to punch them in the face but I let it go. So we just asked around until we finally got in the right line, which was line 4. Since our appointment wasn’t until 830 they said we were not allowed in until 8am, so we just walked down to the gas station in the corner and got something to eat. (I met our fellow member Jolusa and her husband there). At around 7:50am we got back into the line. A man with info on the back of his shirt took our interview letter and gave us number 257. They separat... read complete review
