Review Topic: K1 Visa

Arrived at the embassy at 8 am (was scheduled for 8.30). Got through security pretty fast and entered the visa immigration office at 8.15 am. I was directed to window G right away, where a sweet young Swedish woman recieved my documents (police records, birthcerticicate, I-34, and Aaron's employer letter and latest tax transcript). She had me sign my DS forms while asking me a few questions about my previous J1 visa and also about my name change in 2001 (when I was baptized I added an extra middle name). Sadly, I did not bring my name change document- but she said it would not be a problem and that I could just send it in later.
Then I sat down for 5 min before I was called to the interview by the consular. He was a bit authoritarian at first, but ended up making jokes etc.
Questions:
How did you meet?
When did you see him IRL first time?
Has he been to Denmark?
Tell me about Huntington Beach? (talked about how I would end up getting killed ... read complete review

Review Topic: K1 Visa

I had an appointment at 11:00, but already came a bit before 10. The guards checked my appointment letter, and said that should i come back 15 minutes before 11.
When i got back after a short break at the library across the street, he showed the appointment letter again, and passport, and they let me in, where i had to take everything out of the pockets, and put phone on the table, and my folder in a box.
Then i was let in to the waiting room, and was told to go to window 4, where a nice danish woman, wanted to see the documents (DS-156, DS-156K, DS-157, DS-230 Part I). I also had to give them military draft board, passport, birth certificate, bank payment receipt and the co-sponsor documents.
Then i was told to sit and wait until they called me on the speaker. shortly after the danish woman at window 4 called me, and told that they had to postpone to interview 2 hours, and said i could go to the lake or to a café to get something to eat, and come back at 14:00.... read complete review

I was there half an hour too early - the guards won't let anybody in until 10-15 minutes before time so I went down to the lakes for a bit. After showing passport and app. letter they ask for your electronic devices which I had already put in one bag. Was told to please take a seat until a lady at window 4 called my name. She's the one taking care of all the documents, asking you to sign ds-156k and looking through the paperwork, doing fingerprints and explaining the process. They scan your picture(the one you brought along) so make sure ears and eyes are clearly exposed - and picture size 2 x 2". She was very kind, and asked if I had any problems with the guidelines and instructions(packet 3 only consists of one paper with a link to all forms). They don't specifically mention the i-134 in the instructions as a requirement at Cph but make sure you bring it and all supporting evidence.

It took around 20 minutes, then she asked me to have a seat until I was called to win... read complete review

According to my fiance, who attended alone while I stayed in the states, it was very smooth and quick. He arrived and first sat at a booth with a "nice Danish-speaking lady" who asked him for his necessary documents. He had come armed with a pretty obscene amount of proof of relationship materials (we erred on the side of being overprepared since we are both fairly anxious people) and she only asked to see a few. A letter from my boss stating the terms of my job was all the supporting documents she required for my Affidavit of Support - not my tax return, car title, or pay slips, which he also had. Then he was directed into an office with a "kind young man" who asked him two questions about our relationship, which my fiance answered. The man told him everything was in order and that he should receive his visa in the mail in a few days. Altogether very pleasant, smooth, and fast. We are very blessed to have had such a good experience! Thanks Copenhagen!javascript:emoticon('... read complete review
