We were approved!
Our appointment time was at 7am, which is when the funcionarios stand outside and call out names and your number, and collect Cuban IDs. They don't allow phones/electronics and make you through out any paper envelopes (I have no clue why), so just be sure to avoid bringing those things. We got in around 8 or so, waited to be called to submit our paper work and then do fingerprints. Like everyone else has said, fiance visas are the last, and it seems that when the American fiance is present, you're the last of the last. We watched every other person/group go through and were finally called for the interview just before 2pm, at the same time as the only other couple in which the American fiance attended. We were the very last and when we were done, the second appointment group was already entering. It's extremely nerve-racking to watch everyone else go through, with many unhappy salidas, so as others have said, expect to be nervous.

I think my fiance would have been approved with or without me there, but he was eternally grateful to have me at his side. So that made it worth it. if you are American and bring your passport, you can go to the front of the VERY LONG line to enter the Interests Section. Just tell them you are american and at 8:00 when they are letting in the second section of visa seekers, you can go to the front, which ends up saving a huge chunk of waiting time. I filled out a form. We waited. We handed in documents. waited more. did fingerprints. waited more. then were called for interview. After about a total of 4 hours waiting.
He asked for the documents from the package 3 to be signed. They asked similar questions as we have seen here. Explain how we met, how many times had I come to visit. Describe my last visit there. when was it. where did we stay on our rode trip, etc, things like that. What do I do for a living. Is he in the Juventud party. Does he have have any family in US. Do I ... read complete review

My fiance got his visa! Now the details: We were told to arrive at the US Interest Section at 7am. Fortunately, we were there shortly after 6am, because around 6:15 or 6:30, they began reading lists of names and having people line up in order. I don’t know how that would have worked if we had not showed up until 7am. Around 9am we got inside the building. Around 10:30 we were called to the window to turn in the paperwork and then pay the cashier. Next was the fingerprinting. Then a long wait while around us others were being seen but we waited and waited until the waiting room was almost empty. We eventually found out that the people waiting for fiance visas were seen last.
At 1:30pm, we were finally called up to a window to be interviewed. We stood at the window, a frosted glass partition separating us from the waiting area. The interviewer was friendly and asked us a few questions: “Tell me about yourselves. How did you meet? Where will you live? What are your... read complete review

The interview was very stressful and you really need to be prepared with lots of documentation and very important financial information.

Very difficult. You have to have a very strong case to get approved.
