I went to Cuba for the interview and I recommend others do the same if possible because it is very stressfull to go alone, the appointment was at 7:00 am, but at about 6:30am Cuban officials are working for the US Interest Section start calling people from the list and getting everybody's IDs
They also asked me to fill up a form for US citizens with my name, address and the reason I was there.
We got in around 8:00am or so.Once inside at the front desk they assigned us to window 6, we waited to be called to submit our paper work and then for him to do fingerprints. When it was our turn the person who attended us was pretty serious but not that bad. When we sat down he told my boyfriend to go pay the fee, then while he was gone he asked me things like how many children he has and if he was un-employed, just to check if what we had in our papers was correct. we did bring lots of pictures, cellphones text between each other and chat records. When my boyfriend came back he told ... read complete review

Our CR1 interview was, without trying to sound like I'm complaining, almost frustratingly easy. I went to Cuba for the interview and I really think that made a difference so I recommend others do the same if possible.

Even though the appointment letter said 8:00 am, you should try to make it to the little nearby park at 7:00. At about 7:10 Cuban officials working for the US Interest Section will start calling people from a list and getting everybody's "Carnet de Identidad". Afterwards, applicants line up to enter the building. My wife C and I arrived a little late, at 7:30am, and people were already in line. We gave the officials her "Carnet de Identidad" and went to the end of the line. C remembered she had read in this forum that one could skip the line, so I talked to the guy at the gate and he let us in in front of everybody.

Once inside the gate we passed the first security checkpoint. We had to surrender our cellphones and a USB drive I had, and I ... read complete review

This is relayed by my fiancee who had her interview May 17,2010. She was also accompanied by her 7 yr old daugher (K-2). Everything previously described is accurate, including the long waits. They do however allow persons with children to go earlier as I was worried about the extended wait. As for the envelope issue, its likely that they don't want any appearance of graft or bribery, as money would being exchanged would be clearly evident without envelopes.

My fiancee did get asked numerous questions about how we met, my subsequent visits to Cuba, and any date set for the wedding. As her daughter was there, she was asked several questions. Like most seven year olds she was initially tentative but once my fiance urged her to speak freely, she spontaneously divulged information, like whether or not she had seen us kiss, where we had vacationed while in Cuba, and what kind of gifts I had brought this past christmas (electric keyboard, markers, books, candies). That ... read complete review
