I went to Cuba to be with my fiance for his interview. On date of interview, Oct. 18, we arrived at the corner near Special Interest Section at 7 a.m. We waited about 15 minutes before names were called for the Cuban citizens to bring their carnet de identificación and receive their number in line. Julio was number 104. Then we stood in line, in number order, for over two hours. Finally, we arrived at the "gate" where the guards call out the Cuban's # and ask for U.S. Citizen's passport and sent us separately down the sidewalk to the gate into the building. We waited about 10 minutes at this gate, as they let each couple or family group in ahead of us. First we went to the Security Department, where Julio needed to leave his cell phone and I needed to take some of our photos out that were in envelopes and throw away the envelopes. I didn't have a bag, so nothing needed to be inspected. Then we went to the Department of Review/Revision of Documents. The lady who attended us was ... read complete review

My story is long extensive, but at the end of the of there is LIGHT!!!! I went to Cuba to be with my fiance at the interview on Sept 27th.. I am not going to bore you with the details, as usual, we arrived at 5:45am at the park, waited for official to come out and start naming people on the list. We were #137 (I thought they were never going to call us). They called and took his ID Card. We made the line and waited for official to come back and start calling people. Around 10am the official came and called out my fiance's name. I showed my passport so I can go with him. After that we made another line infront of the Consulate. They asked for fiance interview and company (showed american passport again). Went through security, they kept phone and perfume and my cream (you get it back once you leave). Once inside we showed our 230, 156, 157, etc. then we were told to go to another room (where fingerprings, and payments are done $240.00). When they called us to turn in documents, this is ... read complete review

I called NVC on Aug. 10 to see if they had any idea for an interview date, to which they replied, "There are no more dates for September, so it will most likely be in October." On Aug. 14 at 2am, as I was headed to the airport for a visit in Cuba with my husband, I received an email stating our interview would be Sept. 14. Too late to change my plans. So, I made 2 flights in a month's time because I wanted to be there for the interview.

Our appointment was scheduled for 8am. The letter said to arrive at the building for the 8am time. Nothing more regarding arrival time or location. However, through this site and some other people I know who have gone through the interview process, we knew we had to be there earlier and at a different location. The day before we took a walk to the U.S. Interests Section to look around. My husband asked the Cuban officials guarding the building if we could cross the street and speak to them. When we asked them about arrival time, et... read complete review
