For the English speaking community:
First Step:
My wife arrived at her interview appointment around 6:20am. Before entering the embassy 4 lines are formed:
1.For people that had missing paperwork submitted the day before and had their interview reschedule for today.
2. For Visa Category K-1, K-2, K-3, K-4, CR-1
3. Tourist Visa and Work Visas
4. For people that need to submit paperwork from previous interviews.
Second Step:
A person from the courier DOMESA hands everyone a form to fill out and submit after the Visa is approved. After this, everyone receives a colored sticker and a group number. My wife received a green sticker in order to differentiate the type of Visa. Then it was time to proceed inside, first the Security point. They make you take off your jacket and they keep your cell phone. The items they keep are returned to you after the interview is over. After the Se... read complete review

Primer Paso:
Mi esposa llego a su cita de visa tipo 6:20 a.m. Antes de entrar se forman en 4 lineas:

Went today Friday Jan. 16 for my Venezuelan wife's CR1 interview. She was denied a visitor's visa in 2007 because the interviewer focused on the marriage fraud danger of marriage to an older gringo--though that is totally irrelevant to a visitor visa approval or denial ( I am a retired lawyer from Fla.) so we had some trepidation, but since 2007 we have put bank accounts and my Colombian finca in both our names and have lived together on our finca near Medellin. The first woman interviewer put the paperwork in a certain order that had been forwarded from NVC, in fact the only document that was requested at the post 40 where a folder was given were the lab results; since if the document was sent to NVC it was not needed again. The first interview on the docs was around 9 a.m. after going in the embassy a little after 7 a.m. that lady, who my wife later said was friendly (she did not want to see me)told us then to go sit in front of window 2 and a consular person would call us. About a... read complete review

The morning went well at the US Embassy in Bogota. It was a typical chilly raining morning. There were not as many people in line as I expected (day after Thanksgiving). We got there at 6:30 - 6:45 am which was fine. I hate to stand in line any longer than I have to. There were only 10 people or so in front of us in line 3. We moved inside pretty quickly. Had to wait for 30-45 minutes. Was called to a window to submit our paperwork. The lady was kind of mean with no smile. Then we had to wait about 2 1/2- 3 hours for our actual interview. The interview took about 15-20 minutes is all. The interviewer was a nice guy that has been to my hometown in New York many times to go fishing in the Finger Lakes. It helped I think. Our only issue was that she speaks Spanish and only a little English and I speak English and only a little Spanish. Our conversations are improving every day but it is a challenge and we were questioned on it. How could we communicate? It seems impossibl... read complete review

Carmen and I arrived at the embassy at 6:15 and stood in line 3 until about 6:50. During that wait they checked for the interview letter and looked at the passport. They also gave us green stickers to signify the K visa. We then waited in area 40 for the woman to check the paperwork and sign us in. She gave us a file to put the paperwork in order. Make sure to have the DS 230 Part 1 (even though the appointment letter does not mention it).
To have the paperwork signed in more quickly we sat on the stone benches as close to the sign 40 and table as we could. Even though we were close to the first people that got signed in we were one of the last to be called for the intial paperwork to be checked (Window 30)(about 11:30 - we were waiting close to 3.5 hours to be called to the window). They looked like they picked the order of people by random. Once Carmen went to this window the woman was asking Carmen how we met, how long we have known each other, how many times I had v... read complete review
