A continuación va mi relato.

Review Topic: IR-1/CR-1 Visa

My wife's IR-1 visa was approved yesterday. We waited for 6 hours for a less-than-two-minute inteview. The very pleasant C/O asked 2 questions: "How did you meet," and "what were you doing in Argentina when you were there for 6 months." (she took a course in multi-media animation). Then she asked to see some of our evidence. My wife asked her if she wanted the photos or the paper evidence, and she asked to see photos. We took the photos out of the wedding album and the other album, and the C/O glanced at a few of them and then said "congratulations, you are approved." It was sort of anti-climactic in a way, because I did so much preparation of the documentary evidence - I had all my boarding passes, emails, phone bills, IRA account and bank statements and she didn't look at it. I suppose it was good to prepare for any and all eventualities.

The worst part is the insufferable wait, where you watch other visa applicants stand at the windows for up to 45 minutes... read complete review

We got the visa approved yesterday 06172009. That is an adventure. Bogota is hugh. The doctor you have to use is on one side of the city. The clinic for the blood test etc another side. The bank you have to use to pay the embassy fees (301,300 COP) another. Monday was a holiday. I asked three people what is the holiday, they did not know. The doctor that signed Claudia's report said he thought it was related to Lent or St Peter or maybe St Paul. Anyway we had to do all of this paperwork on Tuesday before the interview Wednesday morning.

The interview is waiting (in 7AM out 11 AM)in a hugh open but covered patio in the embassy and waiting to be called to a window. It is like in a prison, she talked on a phone with the interviewer behind the glass. We went to two windows and the last one asked me several questions about how I met her, how many visits, and had we been to another country together. She then said I am going to approve her visa and it will be about a week bef... read complete review

VISA APROBADA!!

My fiance had to get three vaccinations before the interview, that's OK, I guess. We arrived at the embassy at 5 til 7 in the morning. We waited about two hours before Lina was called up to window 29 and they reviewed our paperwork. Everything was there so we were sent to window 2 for her fingerprints. We waited 15 minutes for that and then we waited for her interview. Two hours later, Lina was called up to window 4. They asked her some questions about how we met and where and when I proposed to her and then they asked me the same questions, alone, to see if our answers matched, I guess. Well they matched and she was approved. We left the embassy at 12:45 and received our visa three days later at the Domesa delivery office. We are now back in Orlando and are planning on getting married Friday, June 12th, 2009. Keep the faith and good luck to everyone.
