We had an amazing experience at the embassy. The consular officer was extremely nice and treated us really well.
Our visa was approved about 5 minutes into the interview. Everything else was good and organized too.

we left the apartment at 6am and took maybe 5min to get there. they told us to get in line 3 while we waited to go through security to enter embassy. they started letting us in at 6:30 and told us to go to window 40. around 7am a lady came over to our group of people and gave us a folder to organize all the papers in. a little while later they started calling people to window 30 and 31 to turn in papers. they did not call us and we was wondering how long it was going to be. finally they call 5 of us to window 40 and they told us to follow them to window 4 where the interview was. we made a couple of friends there while we waited and they turned their paper work into windows 30 and 31. it was not very cold to me there but other people said it was i guess it just depends where you are from. finally they call us to window 4 and we turned in our papers. we are thinking that they have us doing something different maybe because we did not pass medical. so we asked one of the 5 people that ca... read complete review

the interview was easy and smooth, just took 5 minutes and the CO asked me:
what is the job of your fiance? how many times he has traveled to Colombia?
he has been married? do you have lived in USA? you have photos? and then I heard the sweet words: "visa approved"

Our interview was on March 2, 2010 at the Colombia embassy. We arrived in Bogota early Monday morning on a long bus ride from Medellin. We attempted to pay the visa fee at Banco De Credito near the embassy on Monday but upon our arrival at 430pm the bank was close. The bank closes at 3pm. So we just relaxed the rest of the day. The bad news about our travel was that the buses were not running because they were on strike and same with the taxis. On March 2, we woke up at 4am to get ready to go to the embassy, we woke up early because buses and taxis were not running and we were told that it would take us about an hour and a half to walk to the embassy from where we were staying. God was with us that day because when we left her uncles house we found a taxi driver that was taking patrons. We arrived at Cipress Plaza at 615am which is where the bank is to pay the visa fee. We were second in line and just waited for 7am when the bank opens. My fiancé uncle and brother waited in the line a... read complete review
