Josh and Claudia's review mostly mirrors mine and Claudia's experience action per action. We actually entered the embassy 15 minutes late because the embassy workers were late. Our total time in the embassy was 3 hours 15 minutes. The weather was very nice, sunny skies.
Whe the CO called us for the interview she asked my wife how many times I had visited. My wife told her 8 times in 18 months with my son coming twice with me. She asked to see my passport which we passed to her. She then asked us about our Catholic wedding and how important our faith was to us. My wife explained that even when I visited for a short period we always attended Mass together and remain very close to the priest (Padre Valencia) who married us. She asked to see some photos so we handed her a stack of photos. She looked at some and smiled and said, "I am approving your visa." I was never asked any questions. At one point she switched from speaking Spanish to speaking English which was... read complete review

They sent me to DAS because of an extensive criminal record..Since I did nothing wrong in Colombia they did not give a shit and the Visa was issued..If they let me complete a K-1 visa application with 11 arrests for drugs and violence then anyone can do it..

So we got to the embassy at about 6:30AM, jumped into line #3 for IR1/CR1. Don't forget your 4 passport photos, you're going to need them starting now. Showed the lady the appointment letter and the wife's passport, both of us received green dot stickers to put on our jackets. We proceeded to security, which is almost identical to the airport, minus the fact that the embassy doesn't allow cameras of any type. After security we walked about 50 feet and got a little form from a Domesa lady who also puts a little Domesa sticker on the wife's passport. We then walked into the embassy waiting area and got in line with everyone else from our line #3 crew. The line was waiting for the green folder in which to organize all your papers in the order listed inside, and the nice lady at the desk will explain clearly what to do. You'll need your passport with the Domesa sticker, your passport photos, form DS230, form I-864 (with employment letter, last 3 years W2 and IRS transcripts), (both wi... read complete review

I got to the embassy at 7 am, I asked to the person in charge of the lines, she asked me to show her the letter, I explained that I got my interview by phone, so she asked me the first page of the visa instruction with my case number and told me to wait, I waited for one hour and finally at 8 am I went in the usem.
inside I went to line #40 where a nice woman gave me a green folder to organize all the papers, I had to put the I 864 (take copies with you) and the DS 230 too. after that she told me to sit and wait. after 3 hours of waiting I was called to wondow #7 and a nice woman too asked me who was the petitioner, and organize all the papers and open the medical and the migratory certificate and put them back in a folder with some new forms in there (for the consul to fill) .
she told me to sit and wait for fingerprint taken, so after 2o mins they called me again and had my fingerprints taken, and 10 mins later I was called to window 1 where I paid 8... read complete review
