Review Topic: IR-1/CR-1 Visa

It was a chilly morning here in Bogotá as we woke up early to arrive at the embassy to wait in line. We arrived at 6:20am even though our interview wasn't until 9:00am. We waited in line 4 until 8:30am dancing a little bit to stay warm. By 9am we were directed to line 3 (which is the line for immigrants); this was outside of the embassy. Afterwards, it was required of us to take off our belts and jackets and leave our cell phones at the enterance. We arrived at an office with our papers (including my medical papers). As expected, the official who was very amiable told us to wait until my name was called. There were only two officials working in the offices for immigrants and therefore we had to wait a bit until around 10:30am before my name was called. Time flew by because my husband and I were laughing to the point where our stomachs hurt from laughter and luckily there was a little café that sold coffee, buñuelos, empanadas and other pastries which hit the spot because we didn't e... read complete review

She got to the embassy at 6:30 am for her 7:30 am appointment. Before her appointment time, she turned in her paperwork. She was the first and only person in line 3 for a while. At 8:15 am, she had her actual interview which took less than 5 minutes and only consisted of 6 questions: my name, my occupation, where we met, how many times I've visited her, last time I went to Colombia, and method of communication. Immediately after, she got the good news -- welcome to the US!!! She was out by 8:20 am. The consulate commented that they were very appreciative that she organized all of her paperwork ahead of time. They didn't even ask her for proof of relationship, nor did they question why I didn't go.

Just left th embassy, everything went smooth. Arrived at 6:30 and waited outside for less than two minutes then just inside for another 15 then were given list of order to put papers in and sent to a window.

Precisely at 7:05 the window opened and I was asked to have a seat and wait while they went through the papers with Erika, she then came and waited with me and 3 others that were waiting for K-1 also.

After about an hour they called the first one to a different window, then another then us. They asked a few simple questions, and said congratulations and gave us info about where the visa would be sent.

My Fiance kept saying how nice everyone was.

The embassy sends package 3 and 4 as one single package online with all the information you need.

You don't need to send back anything to the embassy. As soon as you have the documents you can book your appointment for the k1 visa online, the embassy sends you on the package 3/4 with all the instructions on the booking.

You pay 240USD for the interview fee and you are free to pick up the date, modify it.

Review Topic: IR-1/CR-1 Visa

Our initial approach to the Embassy looked to be a long wait...but our line (line 3) was extremely short and we actually were the first in line (the other longer lines were for tourist visas). We presented our official letter then passed thru a security check were they took our cell phones and scanned any bags/purses. We were given green dots/stickers to place on our shirts and were told to proceed to gate 3 or 4. We only waited a few minutes when we were called to the window. A middle aged Caucasian gentleman with a thick Spanish accent was on the other side. He first asked my wife a few simple questions and my wife had to ask him to repeat something once due to his accent...to which he was apologetic and kind. He then called me and asked me a few simple questions...my wife signed the papers and we were told to sit and wait to be called again. Approximately 15 minutes later, we were called and we told everything was in order and that we should be receiving my Wife's visa within... read complete review
