My experience at the embassy was really great. The officer who took my case was very nice and encouraging. I know have to do a waiver to be able to go back to the US.

The experience at the US Embassy in Bogota was great. The process was smooth with no issues whatsoever. The only complaint I my have is related to the biometrics and the pictures however, that is part of the process and nothing to do with the level or service provided by the US Embassy staff.
As you may know, the process is divided into three parts: Medical Examination, Biometrics and Interview.
a. Medical Examination: The process is very easy to follow, lab work in the morning and medical visit in the afternoon. Unfortunately, they are at different places and Bogota is a congested city and commuting from one place to the other could be really stressful.
b. Biometrics: This is a no brainer, people arrive, make the line and in about 20 min everything is done. However, this is a non-sense step, which I will explain later.
c. Interview: The whole process started at 7:00AM and was completed by 10:00AM. The US Embassy’s officials are very picky with the docu... read complete review

Even though we were put into Administrative Processing I would say that the service and process were very good at the Bogota Embassy in Colombia. We arrived early and they took us right away to get out pertinent info and about thirty minutes later they called my Fiancee up to the window. She talked to the CONSUL for about thirty minutes and was very cordial when they told us it would be a little while because they need to do a little more administrative processing. The supervisor came out to tell us and we were both in tears and he broke down also so they are not heartless and understand the heartache people go through for this process. Go up there and don't worry about it, They are human just as us and they are just asking a few questions to ensure the papers or truthful and valid. No tricks, just straight up questions.

Nice consul, 3 questions (my name, address, and our plan for our future) then approved . It took no less that 5 min. Great experience
