Review Topic: K1 Visa

My fiancé interviewed this morning in Bogota for a K1 visa. He had a good experience, though he had to wait for a few hours. Once he was called up his interview was <10 minutes. They asked him what countries he's lived in (he's lived abroad) and when was the last time we saw each other (just 3 weeks ago-- he felt like that helped). And that's it-- visa approved, they didn't ask for pictures or other relationship evidence. Good luck to all!!

Review Topic: IR-1/CR-1 Visa

I arrived and hour earlier than my appointment letter said there was already 25 people before me some of them even had their interview at 9 am so the time doesnt really matter but the order you get there does. As soon as you get there security lets you in you go through security check you can keep your cellphone and turn it on when you are inside.

After you go in they will take your name and cross you out from a list they have and give you a number to get called for the first time. When they call you to the first window is to confirm your information. After that they will call you again by your name and the consul will then do the interview. They gave me paper that is an immigration fee you have to pay online before you travel. They will send me the package and the passport with the visa through DHL the one you chose. The people at the embassy were very nice and helpful. They do take a little long i was there for 4 1/2 hours but in general it was good.

Review Topic: IR-1/CR-1 Visa

The appointment was scheduled for 9 AM, but we arrived at 6:50, and we were attended to right away. A man in front of us was turned away at the first checkpoint for not having his medical exam results.

We passed through the pre-interview and interview quickly. The questions were all simple and easy. She spoke to me on the phone to clarify something on the I-864. Evidence was never requested, and she never looked at the new police certificate, nor the marriage certificate. They asked for copies of my joint sponsor's birth certificate and passport, which I didn't have. She said that it was no problem, to email it. She handed us the 221g form indicating where to send the documents and said that the visa would be at DHL in about two weeks. Then, she gave him the domestic violence packet and explained it. She never said the word 'accepted' or 'welcome to the US', but it was okay, and we got the visa fairly quickly, less than two weeks. Best wishes to all going thr... read complete review

Review Topic: K1 Visa

We had our interview this morning at the Bogota Consulate. We were approved! And first I would like to say thank you so so much to the VJ community, because none of this would have even been possible without the help of so many members!

Our interview was scheduled for 8am. We arrived at 7:15 and they let K applicants enter early. We were called up to a window for a pre-interview. We turned in our paperwork, my fiance was asked a few basic questions and then we were told to sit back down. We waited about 20 minutes and were called up to a window for the interview.
They asked the following questions:
What is your name?
Who is this? (pointing at me)
Have you been married before?
Have to been arrested in Colombia or the USA before?
When is the wedding? Why did you choose that date?
How did you meet?

They did not ask for additional evidence, we never had to present it. They had our evidence pictures from the I-1... read complete review
