K1 Interview in Bogota, October 2016
In order to increase the probability of my fiancee passing her K1 interview in Colombia, I thought it important to have a firm understanding of how the process evolves specific to the one consulate that performs the interviews: Bogota. So, prior to my fiancee's interview, I extensively searched the internet to see how the interview would take place. I found legal services that promoted themselves as authoritative on how to prepare for an interview, but they were quite generic, and I would bet almost none had ever participated in an up to date Colombian interview. And, first and foremost, I was searching for information specific to Bogota. I did find about four testimonials, but I can now say, after having participated in the interview process, their information was stale. Over the past five or so years there have been substantial changes.
So, I try to offer you a detailed and up to date understanding of how the K1... read complete review

The interview process seemed like it took forever, we sat down at a booth with a glass partition and spoke via a phone. Similar to what you see on TV when people make prison visits. The questions were straight forward, but they ask them very quickly and really don't give you a chance to think. Where did you meet, when, how many times have you seen each other, where are you going to live, what type of work does your fiancee do, how many kids does he have, was he married before, how many times has he been divorced. Where is he right now, are you going to live with him. So the questions are straight forward, BUT then they asked my daughter some of the same questions which made her feel uncomfortable. I understand its a process and must be done, so all in all it was OK. At the end of the interview, the consulate wished us a great trip and life in the U.S. and said our visa was approved.

My fiancé's visa approval was very straight forward. Anyone that goes thru this consulate need to plan at least 1 week prior to your interview. Lab Testing takes 2 days then medical exam after 2 days, the following day you pick up your results and then interview the next day. Plan to be there Monday to Friday and works perfectly. (That's if you live outside of Bogota).
My fiancé arrived at 7:30, his appointment was at 8:00. and by 9:30 he was already out of the embassy.
He had to go thru those filters that everyone seem to talk about: first you go thru security then someone give you a list to organize your paperwork, the next person open the medical exams and ask you questions and give your a number to go sit ins from of window 3-5.
My fiancé stated that there was 3 male American (white) consuls conducting the interviews.
As some one has mention here: they take a moment to review your application and scan thru the documents very briefly. Then the ... read complete review

Good Afternoon guys...
Ok, first of all sorry my English.
About my K1 Visa process I got in Bogota on monday 3rd to go to the laboratory the next day very early. Well... they didnt say anything about having period or not, so if u have ur period when u come to get the exams, u have to come back and reschedule everything, I didnt have my period that day so everything went very smooth, I had the doctor appointment for wednesday at 5 pm but I got there earlier which was a good idea since they give attention as people get there... I´m talking about doctor Jairo Roa, he is very respectful and nice... nurses are not that great but the medical exam is good...
I got out of there before my appointment time!!
On Thursday I had the fingerprints appointment at 10 am, I got there 9:30, made the line when the security people asked for the 10 am people... the only situation I had is that I use lotions for my dry skin and my fingerprints didnt w... read complete review
