You get an interview appointment at a certain time but in reality it is first come, first serve. The people working there were very nice and helpful.
They open 1-3 windows to receive all your documents and then you have to wait again to be interviewed. For interviewing, they use 1-2 windows. My interview was at 8:30, I arrived at 8:10 and left at 10:45.
A little bit slow

My wife had her interview at 8:30. She arrived about 5 mins before and entered right away, and the whole process took two hours until she left the embassy.
First thing when you arrive, it is just a smallish door on the street, where you ring a doorbell and a guard will come out and you will pass them a copy of the appointment letter. They go back in, verify you have an appointment, and then let you in. You have to leave your cell phone in their lockers, and can leave small bags as well. You cannot bring in or leave laptops -- so do not bring them! Once through security you go through the courtyard to the main building where all interviews are conducted.
First she presented the essential documents (DS-260 confirmation, I864, tax documents, marriage license, etc.) to an embassy worker (often Chilean) to make sure you have everything necessary for the interview. Then she waited for a while, and eventually her name was called for the interview. The interview... read complete review

After NVC sent our approved petition to the US Embassy in Santiago, it took about a month to hear from them through an email to the sponsor. This email had information on how to fill out DS-160, book the interview and the medical appointment, and what documents would be needed for the interview.
The medical appointment was short and simple, and all the exams and vaccinations could be completed in the same building so it only took an afternoon to get everything done. I had to go back to see the doctor a week later in order to pick up a sealed enveloped which is needed for the interview. All the other documents needed for the interview were easy to obtain, and form I-134 was much easier to fill out than I-129F.
At the entrance of the embassy you will have to show your passport and leave your phone, keys and other sharp small objects in custody. Backpacks are not allowed. Regardless of what time you book your interview, once inside the embassy they will call ... read complete review
