Arrived at the Montreal Consulate at 7:15 on August 29, 2007 and there were already about 5 people ahead of me. Security is intimidating, nearly 3-4 officers are there to check you out. My interview was done in 10 mins flat. The gentleman was kind and courteous, and made me feel at ease. I left the consulate by 9:30 sharp. One tip : bring something to read...newspaper or book...it passes the time.

The Visa came in 4-5 days later.

I took the train to Montreal. I came off the train and got lost, even with all my googled maps. If you take the train, look for the exit that says Rene Levesque. That's the one I took. It'll take you right up. I stayed at the La Tour Centre Ville. Everyone told me to take a cab, but I came out the wrong door and no cabs. It's a 5 minute walk to the left when you come out of the station. Tim Horton's a block down and on the other side of the street.
In the morning I brought my bag down and they put it behind the counter, wished me luck (told me no one has ever came back crying ) and I did the one minute walk to the consulate at 7:30am. There was one person outside but when I got closer to the doors, there were already people lined up in the vestibule.
Take note on that one, go in the line to the left. They were letting one person in at a time. Security guys were very nice. I was given the number E (window #9) and told to go downstairs and wait ... read complete review

Hi all,

I had my interview in Vancouver on Aug. 23, and praise the Lord, everything went very well. I had everything in order so they didn't make me do anything over, and they asked me a few questions about me and my fiance, what we did, how we met, etc. and that was it. I picked up my visa the next day! The guards and the interviewer were all very friendly to me, which I very much appreciated. The day before, Aug. 22, I had my medical exam with Dr. Ian Morgan, and that went very well too. Not that I had anything to worry about, but they were very pleasant and proffessional. We stayed at the Days Inn for 3 nights, just a couple of blocks away from the consulate. From the hotel to the Dr. was quite a walk, but easily done. We did take a taxi there because it was so early in the morning, but then we walked back afterwards, and then walked there again to pick up the results in the afternoon. Anyway, it's a great hotel to stay at. Our room was small but clean. It has good s... read complete review

My interview couldn't have been better!

My appt was for Wednesday, August 15, 2007. My US fiance decided to accompany me at the interview. We arrived at the Consulate at 7:15 AM and nobody was there yet waiting to get in. The security guards were in the building though with doors locked. A couple of minutes later, a young lady showed up and then a couple of minutes after that, another young lady showed up. Then at about 7:30, security unlocked the door and let the three of us in. Once we cleared security, we were given, letter B, window 9. The other ladies receive A and C respectively.

We then waited in a lobby on the first floor. They conveniently have a photo booth in there, in case you forget your photos. About 5 minutes later, the security guard took us up to the 19th floor. Window 9 was to the right of the elevator.

We arrived at window 9 and spoke to a lady. She fired off the list of items she needed - my medical exam (she... read complete review

The Interview was a breeze, everyone was very nice to us, and we were in and out in no time. That was the easiest part of our whole experience to this point.
