Easy, efficient, friendly, no intimidation tactics. All in all it took about 2 hours, between waiting for different people to be ready for me, etc.

I would just like to say that the Vancouver consulate employees were very nice and kind. You could be the worst klutz in the world and they will still be patient and kind.

heres my experience:

Came to the consulate 2 hrs ahead of time, ate lunch at Goodfellas across the st (excellent food). Then arrived at the guard station 1/2hr before the interview, waited 10 min and they let me in. Went through a security check/metal detector. A A guard let me in a special elevator (dont get off on the wrong floor and jump on a different elevator, I did that by accident and they made me go down and around the building to the guard door again, but they were kind about it.) Then I went through another checkpoint and sat in a waiting room for maybe 20min, they called me to a booth, and I gave them the documents they requested. Sat down for like 30-45min then they called me up to be fingerprinted with a machine (yay no ink). Sat down again, for like 5 min, got called up to... read complete review

WOW! what to say and where to start? loll I had my interview on june 4th and I was more relaxed than I expected to be lol....prolly the confidence hehe In my opinion the most stressful thing was the security check at the entry...you never know what to expect but the guys was friendly and polite even telling me please and yes mam loll...what a good start .

Then once you are upstairs, its just a matter of patience loll..not to bad though. i was called at window 9 first to give the super nice lady my appt letter and passport and then was told to go in waiting room and my name would be called....which happened about 15 minutes later. Once again I got a really nice and polite lady who asked me for my papers (originals and copy). She was so pleased with my 'organized file' . (that made her work easier). I then went to pay at the cashier and gave the lady at window 12 my receipt and she took my fingerprints... She was nice and even... read complete review

It was like having a job interview except there was only one person asking questions at a time.

The security guards are a tad tense, but I suppose they may need to be at times. Once upstairs, everyone was nice and polite. The gentleman who did the interview was very nice. Questioned both my daughter and I about a variety of things. He did his best to give me approval for both but due to the "reasonable access" part in the agreement, he couldn't approve my daughter's without her father's consent, which I didn't get.

i left home around 6:20 and walked there relaxed. by 6:45 i was in front of the entrance alone..hehehe
Then about 5 min. after a girl for a CR1 came.. and another k1 couple, and another k1 girl and someone else we didn't talked with much.

7:30, they open the door and ask everyone passport + interview letter.
I go in first at the security checkpoint on the left and a so-so half rude, half neutral security gard ask for my things to put in the tray... goes through xray, of course my wonderful person is ringing..lol.... have to go through the other check with arms open etc.... they will then give me the letter B window#9. (the second girl went with the other gard who was faster and nicer).

Then they ask to wait downstair till beeing called.... We chitchat then about 10 min. later 2 gards come out from the elevator, asking the first 5 persons to come in.... they look quite serious but are still funny when they tell in their radio code from aviatio... read complete review
