Recently had my K1 interview at the new Montreal consulate location at 1134 Rue Ste-Catherine.
My appointment was at 7:30 AM, and as per the new directions I showed up at 7:15. There were others who joined the line-up outside, but at 7:30 only those who actually had appointments scheduled for that time were admitted. Once inside, my passport was examined and my appointment confirmed and I was given a sheet of instructions about how to arrange my paperwork. At security, I had to remove my jacket, hat, gloves, scarf, and FitBit so that they could all be x-rayed (along with my papers). My FitBit was considered a "smart watch" and had to be checked -- they put it in a locker at security and gave me the key with instructions to pick it up when I was finished. Immediately after security is an elevator to take you to the 1st floor. Once upstairs, I waited about 20 minutes before my number was called to a window. Here I was asked, individually, for various papers and my passpor... read complete review

They were not very personable. We had all our paperwork and more then we needed which i believe everyone should have as a precaution. she asked a few questions in an open stall type of area of which i could hear my husbands answers. Less then 15 minutes later we were approved and on our way out of the facility.

Due to a system failure at the interview, they were unable to scan and verify documents at the same time, and required documents resubmitted. Visa was "verbally approved" at interview.

Hi Everyone! I wanted to update everyone on my experience on Friday, Nov 15th. - Approved Visa Status
I drove in from Toronto the night before and stayed at the Comfort In Suites. It was a 5-6 minute walk to the embassy and they offered free breakfast. My appointment was for 7:30am and I arrived at 7:15am. Please make sure you dress warm, in case they keep you waiting outside. They let us in 2 by 2 and I got in between 8:15am-8:30am-ish. Just like others have mentioned - you walk in, hand them your passport, they place a sticker at the back and hand it back to you as well as the laminated sheet with a number at the top. I was #8. The order of documents if I recall correctly is:
-Laminated Sheet
-Passport
-Passport Pictures
-Medical Report
-Original Birth Certificate
-Original Marriage Certificate
-AOS (I-846)
-Most recent taxes
They direct you to the first floor, there is a waiting area a... read complete review

While eating my croissant. Here it is.
After months of waiting for IL, we finally got it Oct 15 for a Nov 8 interview. One week prior, we were rescheduled Nov 18 due to the move.
Interview day November 18,2019.
My appointment time is 8:30 am. Left my hotel at 8:20 because I’ve read that they turn you away and wont let you in nor line up outside before the appointment schedule.
Got to the consulate door 8:23 and there were people outside in queue. I asked a few of them if what time is their appointment and they all said 8:30. They let in people 3 at a time then 1 by 1.
I was inside 8:41. Handed my passport to the ladies and they checked my name on their ipad. Gave me back my passport and a laminated sheet with assigned number and instructions on how they want your documents arranged.
Went through security. Left my phone at the hotel to make it easier for me but if you decide to bring, they will keep it for you. Took my... read complete review
