Our experience at the Vancouver consulate was way better than we had anticipated. We didn't wait outside at all, went straight up to the interview area and just waited our turn. The staff was pleasant, although a little aloof. I don't think they can possibly understand the stress we are all under on that day.

The lack of rest rooms was a bit of a problem because we were there for a couple of hours, but other than that, it went very well.

We were issued the K-1 Visa shortly after our interview was over.

They always answered our emails promptly.

Montreal was very professional and courteous. Had a very positive experience. Just be sure to not bring in any bags or electronic devices of any kind...They are very responsive to any communication that you may have either by email or phone...

Also arrive early in the morning , at about 7:30 or so, no matter what it says on your appointment letter, because it's first come, first served...

Regarding the Vancouver Consulate, I had trouble getting info by email but when I faxed them with a couple of questions they called me back within a few hours.

The day before my Interview there was a protest in front of the consulate in regards to the elections in the USA so security was max. No one was allowed to go in without waiting in turn of arrival in the line-up.

Everyone was friendly and helpful and over all, the Vancouver Consulate was a pleasant experience.

I found the Vancouver Consulate to be very helpful. I had emailed them to ask if they had received my approved K1. They replied within a day that they hadn't. But they emailed me back two days later to tell me that they had just received it and were sending it right away. The only parts I didn't like is that you wait in a long line up outside ( was cold in January), and that there aren't any washrooms anywhere near the waiting room. Other than that, the staff was good. They had made a small mistake on my Visa, and I had to wait a while for the Conoff to come back from lunch. But it was done the same day. Overall, alot better than I had expected.
Good luck all,
Sandra
