Pleasant and easy process. Shouldn't have worried about it half as much as I did!

So yesterday morning, Mom and I bussed in to Montreal and walked over to the consulate. I had a letter saying that my interview was at 9:30 and we got there at 9, but there was already a queue. Just as we got there, a b***h of a security guard was letting a few people in so mom was convinced that they all had appointments and shoved me in ahead of everyone else. I wasn't impressed, I doubt they people outside were impressed ... but hey. I was in. We were in a foyer behing a very thick set of smoked glass double doors and they were letting people in, one at a time. When I got to the top, the b***h told me I had to ditch the bag (I had all of my documents in my backpack) before I could come in. Luckily, mom was at the coffee shop in front of the building (Consulate was on the side) so I just ran over and gave her the non-essential stuff and ran back. They were not letting anyone in with a bag of any kind, except for small purses. They were telling people to go put them in a locker at the... read complete review

Our experience at the Vancouver Consulate was a pleasant and fairly stress-free one. No need to show up early to get in line, you are let into the building in time for the interview which was a relief. Security was extensive and very strict which was nerve wracking to go through. Once in the K-visa area it was a much different atmosphere. Very friendly and helpful people there. Our documents and information was verified. We were asked a few simple questions and told good luck Our appointment was at 10am and everything took about an hour and a half to complete. Lots of sitting and waiting in between. I posted our experience in the forum section if anyone wants details. Feel free to send me a message if there is a specific question I could help with about this particular consulate.

Vancouver was awesome! I transfered K3 case from Montreal to Vancouver because it was taking to long to get an interview. They emailed me as soon as they got it, I than asked for an interview in December, they said sure. I than found out that I had to travel to Vancouver on Business, I called them on the Monday that I landed and asked if I could have the interview this week, they said sure and I had it on the Wednesday. Security was strict, however if you tell them that you are there for a K3 interview they let you jump to the front of the line. I was not asked a single question at my interview, we talked about hockey and how when he saw that I worked in Ottawa he was worried that I was going to be a Senators fan. I was able to pick up the visa the same day in the afternoon.

They were very nice. Interview only took about five minutes, took my right and left index fingerprints asked how my husband and I met and that was it! Picked up the visa the next day, easiest part of the process
