I thought they were quick, professional, and very nice! The interviewer had us laughing after too long, and we actually had Eric's K1 visa in hand before noon. We were back on the train before 1PM, headed back to his house.

I arrived at the consulate about 20 minutes early, and went to the front of the line. They let me right in, which ended up being great, since I was the first one there, and 1st to be processed.
There are two security checkpoints –much like at the airport. I had everything in one clear zip up folder and it was easy to search. Security took no time. One checkpoint is at the entrance, and one is when you get off the elevator.
Then you are told to wait in this narrow little hallway with 4 chairs, facing a counter. There are tons of people waiting for other visas, but the K visas wait around the corner.
They give you a paper with directions to put your documents in a specific order, and then they call you up to go through everything. She keeps all the originals at this point, but they give them back to you (except the RCMP report) after the interview and keep the photocopies (I had provided them).
She will ask you to go down the ... read complete review

got there a little early with our tim hortons coffee around 6:45am. we waited until 7:20 for the security guard to let us in...went throu security and was then told to seat in waiting room for another guard to show us up to the 19th floor.he came around 7:45 and had a real good sense of humour..lol.once we got up to the 19th floor, .the woman then took out appointment letter and passports. she then called us back 5 mins later, asking for all our documents, i was there longer than normal, because there was myself and my 2 sons. this was all over around 8:30am, and was told to sit and wait for my name to be called. we waited about 1hr and 15 mins...which felt more like 4 hrs...lol...we were called into room 7..and she said to me everything was in order, asked me 1 question..how we met, talked to my 20 yr old about college, didnt even ask for all the evidence we had brought!!!!...said you are good to go, gave me a slip to return next day to pick up visa....it went real well, and anyone we... read complete review

* You can't stand and wait near the elevator anymore (they are WATCHING from a camera and they set you straight quite quickly to "step away from the elevator!"), but you still exit from behind...
* They are telling you different windows to check in then previously posted
* They didn't give us a "number" (like C1, 2, etc.) they called us up by name (a bit mumbly too, we were confused, but figured it out)
* The consular was younger than I ever pictured in my mind, very nice man, and felt like we were chatting with a friend; the lady who took our originals was very nice too (even the lady at the cashier window was nice!)
* Don't tick off the security lady with the black wavy hair, she BITES
* Don't wander anywhere outside of the area you're supposed to be in, they are watching you and they will come up and make you feel like an arse! (not to us, but it was witnessed). Sit quietly and follow all directions given!!
* They didn't look at our picture... read complete review

I had my interview in Montreal on Friday, November 17th and it was a pleasant experience. The consulate staff was extremely helpful and it was a pretty painless experience. It helps to be prepared and have everything ready when they ask to see it. My interviewer was very nice and friendly and I was asked maybe 3 questions total; about how I met my US fiance, wedding plans & about my previous marriage. I think my fiance was asked a few questions about his I-134 and that was it. It took about 10 mintues total for the interview and we were sent on our way!
