Just as everyone else has said, the interview at the Embassy is the easiest part.

In Vancouver, be sure to arrive 15 minutes before your appointment time, they won't let you in any sooner. My appointment was at 1 pm and I had to wait until 12:45 before they were letting people into the building, I guess all the officers were still on lunch.

Make sure you have all your documents requested on your checklist and you will be fine. The interview part for me was 3 question:

How did you meet?
When did you get engaged?
When is your wedding?

They also asked what my fiance did for work, how much salary he made, what kind of work I did and how much I made. As well as would I be working in the US once I was able to.

The lady told me right away I was approved and to come back the next day to pick up my Visa.

Hey,
Thanks for the great advice received here on the site.
All was pretty standard.

Arrived at 7:30am.
I was first and only one up on the 19th floor for the first 10 minutes, then slowly the room began to fill.
I of course received the letter A.
The first lady I saw at teller #11 was great! Very nice and sweet seeming.
She took my medical, passport, appointment letter, and big Expresspost envelope.
All my other documents were in order, so I did not need to give her anything else.
I sat and waited.
Then was called up to do my fingerprints.
Sat and waited more.
Was called into a small room with a glassed in teller station. The woman behind the glass was also professional and friendly.
She made me swear an oath with my right hand up.
She asked how I met my husband (traveling abroad was my answer).
We travel a lot together, so she asked what our favorite country was.

We had our interview April 17, 2009. We arrived the day before (I drove from Toronto, my fiance flew in to meet me). We stayed at the Sheraton Hotel down the road from the Consulate. We did a trial walk over there the day before, it took us 15 min. The morning of our interview, we arrived at 6:30am, and were the first in line. By 6:45am, a few more people showed up. The Embassy opened at 7:30am, the security guy opened to door, and asked if he could help us. I handed him our interview letter and he let us in. We were the first through security check and the security guy who screened us was very organized and very nice. He took our passports and clipped them to a number and a form, the form outlined what documents we would need right away and in what order. We were sent into the basement to wait for someone to take us up in the elevator. While we waited, we got all the documents out that the form asked for. We ... read complete review

Everything went well... even with the grumpy guys at the door!

We showed up at 6:40 and were the first in line. Walked in to the "security" room and didn't bring much of anything (just had IDs, wallet, lip gloss, and hotel keys), so we were quick to go through the security check.

After that, we went down stairs and waited less than 5 minutes to head up to the 19th floor. During those few moments before getting into the elevator, we were able to start pulling documents from the checklist we were given by the secruty guys.

Once we got up to the 19th floor, we had a seat and waited for less than 10 minutes. We finished collecting and organizing documents we knew we'd need right away from the checklist from before. The elevator security guy took the list away just before entering the elevator (and was quite gruff about it, too... practically just snatched the papers away from my fiance'!) but we remembered what was on the list.

Stayed in Montreal for a week as I had to do my medical. Booked a hotel through hotwire, $46 US a nite for the Comfort Inn. Nice hotel with walking distance to everything I needed while I was there for the week. Got to the consulate about 5 to 7 in the morning. I could type out the whole thing but its pretty well the same as most people have posted on here. Was out by 10am. Parked just around the corner from the consulate, cost $12. Had a quick bit to eat afterwards with a fellow V'jer. All and all pretty painless.
