They were awesome at the consulate. We flew through with no issues. They barely looked at our evidence of an ongoing relationship, I think it was because when she asked if we has any we pulled out like 3 stacks of papers (phone bills, flight and travel itinerarys and all kinds of supporting evidence. She was like, "you're approved, but do you have pictures? I always like seeing pictures!"

Everyone was very nice. One bit of advice, read the guides and forums, learn from the mistakes of others! We wouldn't have gotten to where we are without visajourney!! 6 months to the day!!!

Small waiting room, kind of confusing. They asked for my paperwork and did pre-interview prep. Everyone had numbers and there was a sign displaying numbers being served, but I kept getting called by name? Called me up for fingerprinting. Told me I'd be waiting for 15-30 mins, but I waited for more like an hour. There was absolutely no reading material apart from a torn up childrens book and torn up Mac magazine, and I ended up sitting there by myself with the exception of the cleaning lady who vacuumed around me. Finally went up to the counter and had interview - the woman was really nice and pretty basic questions (financial, how we met, when we got engaged, etc). Looked at photos, phone records, plane tickets. She apologized for the wait, and told me my visa was approved and I talked with the first guy again who helped figure out logistics of sending visa to me. He was super helpful and even showed me the package my next paperwork will arrive in.

I arrived at the consulate early enough that they didn't let me in right away, sending me to sit in an adjacent park/sitting area for about 20 minutes before coming back. Once I was allowed inside, they had me turn out my pockets and take off my belt while they rifled through all my paperwork in a similar manner to airport security...just a little weirder, since they scanned the paperwork to make sure it all applied to visas. As if I would bring in offensive paperwork or something! After that, I was sent up a flight of stairs to the elevators, where another guard swiped her access card to allow the elevator to take me to the top floor. Off the elevator and to another guard station, and the whole downstairs process began again (in case I picked up something threatening in the elevator). After the second security scan, I was admitted to the waiting room. I went on a slow day, since there were only three of us: one couple also awaiting a K1 and another couple with a small child awai... read complete review

Was very pleased and impressed with the attitudes and professionalism the consulate demonstrated, not to mention their patience and understanding with my hearing impairment.

Thank you very much for making my interview pleasant and quick!
