My interview was very quick, smooth and easy After a long time of waiting for the date... Montreal finally pulled through! I planned to arrive at the Consulate at 6am so I could be first in line. I stopped at Tim Hortons and grabbed a coffee and chocolate croissant on the way (I took the metro and got off on Station Square Victoria). I was the only one there. It seemed that there were people waiting in cars in an outdoor lot around the corner though. I was alone for about an hour and then at 7am a few people started to arrive.. behind me was a family of 4 of which the wife and her two small children were also there for a CR-1 interview. At 7:30am the guard came out and opened the door, asked everyone to take out their interview letter and passport. I showed him mine and he gave me a card with the letter "A." We went through the security screening and then I was sent downstairs. As soon as I got there another security guard came down and I asked if there was a washro... read complete review

Interviewed completed and approved! I have read many different reviews and I will make some comments on our interview. Our interview was Oct 7,2010. We were one of the first couples on the new system. There are some flaws in the new system still. One, you have to pay in CASH, no credit cards even though the new letter states you can. There is an ATM in the same building but you will have to go out and recheck with the security. The other main issue was that even though the letter does not say you have to bring the DS-156, you should bring it, we were asked for it. Also, we were told that no cell phones and large bags were allowed, however, there were so many individuals with large bags and purses and one lady had a phone and they made her turn it off. We did not take anything in but we just wanted to report to you all what we saw.
The rest of the process went well with the new process. We had an 8:30 am appt and we were there at 8:00 am, only two couples in front of... read complete review

I am so happy to be able to do this review. My consulate interview was schedualed for Oct. 5, but the medical for Oct. 6. I thought this may pose a problem, but it didnt. I also thought the best I would get would be the blue slip because I wouldnt have all my documents. These were just my personal expectations.
I arrived at the consualte at 12.40, my interview was for 1pm.
I entered the little lobby, put my things into the bins, they go through everything. Flip through every page, in the purse, nothing is left untouched. They are looking for sealed envelopes at this time, so if you have your medical, which is sealed, leave that out for them to find easily. Then you go through the security thing and retrieve your things. Up the stairs, through the door, and are greeted by more security. They ask why youre there, say K1 interview, and they get the elevator for you. Up you go, the officer will pass you off to another officer and through another security thingy you g... read complete review

It didn't take me long, approx. 10min. The consul was from California, and she recognized the pictures we sent them. She did not give me a hard time.
