My husband and I arrived at the consulate around 7:15 and there were already 4 groups of people (including VJer Philandjulie) in line. The security guard let us in at 7:30, we passed the security inspection and were assigned the letter E (We learned about it later when we were being called- we barely saw the tag when the security guard showed it to us earlier and had no idea what letter it was). We waited about 30 minutes (or more) to be called to window 11. A very nice blond lady took the documents and asked us to sit at the chairs in front of the windows (instead of going back to the general waiting area). We waited for about 10 minutes and she took my finger prints. Then we went back to the general waiting area, waited for about 15 to 20 minutes, before we were called to room 7 for the interview. Our officer was another very nice blond lady. She had us take the oath, checked the documents, and asked the following questions (all in a very relaxed tone):
- When did you get marr... read complete review

Well let me first start off by sharing two of the things that were of the utmost concern to us going into this process.
Shortly after i met my fiance, his grandmother had fallen gravely ill and he eventually left his job to help in the care of his grandmother alongside his mother. She passed in late 2009 and my fiance hasn't been back at work since. The situation was understandably very difficult for the entire family. When we started this process we were naive in the fact that there would be a financial requirement, and when it came time for packet 3, we had to have discussions and find a cosponsor. His mother and father were more than happy to assist us with this application and began gathering supporting documentation. On our end we gathered tax returns for the last 5 years in order to show that when my fiance was working , his income was more than adequate to fulfill the requirements. This probably wasn't needed but we thought we would do so in good faith. I also hav... read complete review

After reading recent reviews I noticed they still seem to be doing the first-come, first-served, I decided to get there early rather than the 20 minutes before appointment time. Arrived 6:50am, next to show up was Canadiandggal at 7:00.
Only a few people in line when the doors opened at 7:30 - they want your passport and interview letter out. Clipped letter 'A' to my letter. Went through security, down to the elevator, where he took A-D upstairs.
At 8am, was called up to window 11 (although my letter A said window 9) where nice blonde lady took original and copies of: birth cert, marriage cert, passport; originals only of police cert and photos. Sent to window 14a to pay fee (because I filed DCF), then back to window 11 for fingerprints, I-864, and 2009 taxes/transcripts.
Sat in waiting room for a few minutes, then called to room 7. Very nice petite blonde lady, we had what seemed like just a normal conversation, it didn't seem like ... read complete review

Hello all,
Ok I arrived at close to 7am and met up with Birdnerd and her father, what a nice gal. I had to run to timmies twice due to being extremely sick from nervousness. Finally at 730am which seemed to pass quickly as I was running back and forth. We were invited in one by one, I got letter B although it doesnt matter I think. We sat down and waited for the officer to come and take us upstairs, it was quick. Birdnerd was a pro at knowing everything to do. we were taken upstairs and told to wait to the far corner. I was called second to window 12, A wonderful nice lady was there, I gave her all the paperwork listed, then was told to go sit. I waited and waited till about 915am , all the other people who came up with me had gone and finally I was called back to window 12 because the lady forgot to do my fingerprints. Once again i was told to go sit down again, another 20 minutes and I was called into room 8. A fairly nice man was there, He asked me about where my husband w... read complete review

Andrew and I got into Montreal on Saturday and spent Saturday and Sunday doing some sightseeing/poutine eating.
We arrived at the Embassy on Monday morning (10/18) at about 6:40am--probably wayyyy too early (we were the only ones waiting there for quite a while). We met a really nice couple from Vancouver while we were waiting outside (I know they said they read VJ, but I don't know if they follow the forums. If so, hi!). A few other people got there at about 7:20 or so. Security started letting people in at about 7:30. We were the first ones through security (we brought literally nothing with us except our binders with the interview proof/docs) and got letter A. Security sent us down to wait for a guard to call our letter to be taken up to the 19th floor. At about 7:50 they took A, B, and C up the elevator. We got to another waiting room where we were told we'd be called to a window. Only about 15 minutes later, we were called to window 11, where a really nice lady aske... read complete review
