We had a strange and scary experience at the interview. We had an interview at 8:30am, we got there at 8am. My fiance and I decided that it did not make any sense for us to stand outside in the freezing cold just to be able to leave the consulate early.
Everything up to the interview was fine, normal, as everyone has put it.
At the interview, I, the USC was asked the first question, I was stumped. I did not expect this at all. I was asked how me met, which I told the officer, and I don't think he believed us, because he asked again, then he asked us exactly where and when. Then he went on to ask me about my work, and my income. He asked my fiance for her marital status, status in Canada, which countries I have visited, any relatives in US. He asked us to sit down for a while, and then called us back up.
He took her fingerprints at the beginning of the interview, and he ended the interview with an orange card and said that the fingerprint machine is not work... read complete review

Hi, hope this helps, I got a lot of help from VJ and I want to help others.
It was fine. Everything was great and the consulate people were the nicest friendliest people.
Here is my review.
Appt was for 9am. Showed up at 7:30. One lady ahead of us. doors open just then and we can go in. They scan the coats, scarves, everything out of pockets, I took a small handbag, take off watch.
We got letter A. Went down the stairs, sat and waited by the elevator. Guard took us up. We sat and waited. Around 8:15 we got called. We were first to be called. Lovely lovely lady, so friendly. Patient, I had everything organized, took the stuff, gave us a paper to go and pay $404. Remember to bring US cash or a credit card if you haven't paid the final amount. Said to go sit back outside. Waited, got called again for fingerprints. Hubby is very tall and his fingers which she says happens frequently so she couldn't capture the prints and no prints no vi... read complete review

Checked out the area the day before. Talked with a guard-he told me to get there early. Doors would open at 7:30. I was there at 7 am--first in line. Met some other Visajourney couples and we shared stories--was completed by 8:30. Will say more later on. Am still on a natural high and so relieved. The welcome to America greeting by the 3rd clerk/interviewer was something I will never forget.

Everything that others have said pretty much sum it up, so I'll just give a few insights.
Use DHL. That is all they want for mailing, we were confused on that and did it wrong online, I actually still don't know how to do it... but we worked it out while at the consulate. DO NOT DO THIS- figure it out online and just keep trying to select your DHL location.
Affidavit of Support-
I (the petitioner) am in college and do not have very much money, so we planned to use my parents as our supporters and had them fill out an Affidavid of Support and give us all of their information. Last minutes (a few days before the interview) we decided it might be smart for me to fill out a form as well with letters from my places of work and my tax return from 2009. I am SO thankful that we did this, they wanted my paperwork first and said that my parents was only in suppot of my statement. So, if you plan to use someone besides yourself for financial support, make ... read complete review
