I arrived at the consulate super early (5:45 am) as I could not sleep and my hotel was super close. I scoped out the location the day before and thanks to Saylin's postings with pictures was able to know exactly where the entrance of the consulate was. The hotel that I stayed at was the Le Phillips Square..excellent hotel and extremely close to the consulate. I took my cellphone with me but then ran back to the hotel to drop it off at the front desk.
I was the first person in line and people started showing up at about 6:45 am and there were quite a few VJers there. They opened the doors at 7:30 and let us in. We went through security and then were instructed to go downstairs to the elevator to wait. As a few of us were from VJ, we sat close together by the elevator and chatted and exchanged stories with each other, how we met our significant others, etc...very relaxing experience. Security eventually came down and instructed us to get on the elevator. I sat very close ... read complete review

Overall I had a great experience. I followed the instructions and didnt show up till 20 minutes prior to my appointment. i dont think that even mattered as \i ended up in the lineup till after my 10 am appointment. One girl even showed up at 1030 for her 930 am appointment and was sent to the back of the line. So I'm not really sure how that system works. Ladies, wear comfy shoes. I made the mistake of wearing heels and I would definitely do that differently. Also definitely make sure you have a purse that isnt on the big size... thankfully mine managed to get into the box they have to measure it. . Don't make the same mistake I did when I got there and forgot to remove my makeup- even pressed makeup isn't allowed there. So you either have to have someone come and hold it for you, find a store to hold it or throw it out... I didn't feel like wasting time finding a place so I just threw it out. \sigh\ lol
Once through the security, they take you to an elevator an... read complete review

We arrived at the Consulate at about 7.10 am as I thought it opened at 7.00 and we didn’t really want to wait in the cold and possible rain. Doors weren’t open and there were 6 groups in front of us. Doors opened at 7.30 and allowed one group in at a time. One couple soon came out as they could not find their Loomis receipt.
Inside the door a man checked my Loomis receipt against a list and checked my passport, I then went through security which is like going through airport security except you don’t take your shoes off and you have less things. I made the machine beep and was wanded down but that was OK. Then down the stairs to wait for the lift. In the waiting area is a photo booth if you have forgotten your photos, but no toilets. The waiting area quickly filled up including the couple who had been turned away as they had found their Loomis receipt.
At 8.00 we were let into the lift and sent up. We were met off the lift and had to show our appoin... read complete review

I was the first person there, and the first person out. I can say that for certain.
I arrived at 6:30am, stood in line (which was just me at that point). Waited, waited...eventually another couple showed up and we started talking back and forth. They were very nice and told me I should probably hire myself out instead of people getting lawyers. I told them it was all visa journey.
Anyway, 7:30 rolled around and we were let inside, I went through security no problem and down the long stairs. I sat right next to the elevator and got the first number from the little window (C1). I plunked myself right down of the number board and waited.
About 5 minutes later I was called up, a nice (but brisque) man took my documants, fingerprints and medical. He told me to go sit down. I waited about 15 minutes, was called up to the next window and a lovely gentleman asked me some questions about Kevin and I while he stamped away.
5 minutes ... read complete review
