Finally! The interview is finished and I was approved! .. time to relax for a couple months before moving!!

It was a cold, rainy day in Montreal and I walked to the Consulate around 6:15 am (I think, I didn't have a watch or phone)There was one other couple already in line. Shortly after Ayan arrived, who was also going for a K1 Visa interview. I believe the four of us were the only VJer's there as alot of people showed up with bags, phones, purses etc and were turned away.

We were let in at 7:30 am, a gentleman took my letter and put a sticker on my passport. I then went through security and went downstairs where we all sat near the elevator. Someone came down at around 8 am and told us we were allowed to go up. When we got off the elevator we were given a number, I was c2...although it didn't seem to matter because they started with c4, c3 then me.

I went up to the window when my number was called and nice lady with blond hair asked m... read complete review

Should have written this six months ago...

Gave it a 3 considering that the interview was over within minutes and ended with AP result. This is not reflective of the kindness, courtesy, or professionalism of the staff at the consulate. They were all helpful. The actual interviewer was the dreadlocked lady that we'd heard was tough, but my husband said she was very polite while handing over that 221g.

He said they asked practically no questions. He brought some evidence of relationship, but he was not asked for any of it. No issues of note - he brought extra copies of everything we'd ever submitted. It seems the decision was made before he ever showed up.

He was in and out within a few hours, and he can attest to all the practical advice ever given - don't bring any electronics or bags, and be prepared to be patient.

It was a cold rainy morning, but we hoofed it the 10 minute walk to the Consulate. I did not sleep well the night before, my stomach was in knots and I felt like I was going to throw up all night, and that morning.

We made it about a quarter to six and waited... Two more Visa Journey members showed up shortly after we did. I didn't get their names but they were both there for K-1 interviews. It would be really nice if they put benches out there!!

We all huddled by the door to stay out of the rain. More showed up about seven and lots had bags, cell phones etc that we knew they couldn't get in with. They finally let us in at 7:30 and we were first! The little guy at the door asking for our appointment letter and courier confirmation. At first we couldn't understand what he was asking for, it sounded like he was saying Career, not Courier. But we got it figured out.

We got through security and the two other ladies sat by the elevator with u... read complete review

We have been waiting a long time for this day and it has finally come!

The entire interview process was exactly as everyone described. I got there around 6:30 and met Camille & Trent and Laurie (Anthony & Laurie) that were waiting by the doors. It was raining and cold and it felt like forever until they opened the doors.

I cant say what time that was because I had no way to checking the time (No cell phone no watch) This is a big deal, do not bring anything except your documents because there were many non-VJers there that were turned away because of large purses, briefcases and electronics.

Once we got through security (similar to the airport security but faster). It was pretty easy. They told us to go down the stairs and wait near the elevator. Definitely sit as close as possible to the elevator and try to keep the same line up as when you were waiting outside (it is only fair)

I got a ticket C3 and then the strange thing is... read complete review

Followed Visa Journey instructions and had a positive experience. Stayed at Phillip Square, nice but expensive, around the corner from the consulate. The restaurant attached to the hotel was less than wonderful and would not go back for a second meal.
Arrived at Medisys on Monday and they had documents ready by Wednesday afternoon when I came back to pick them up. Thursday at 7 am, I was first in line at the consulate and met another wonderful and interesting member from Visajourney.com. The line was short that day so we were processed without much wait and hassle at all. Everyone in the embassy was open and friendly. With documents in order and a short interview, I was out the door within an hour and then back on the train for home.
We spent 5 days in Montreal because of the Medical and wait for medical documents and then the Visa interview itself. Our hotel was over $200 a night but near the end of our stay we found other hotels, including the Maritimer fo... read complete review
