AMAZING. Honestly, I was so nervous and the officer that interviewed me was just the sweetest, kindest human! He wore a pink mask and told me that on days where he processes K1's. he wears a pink mask to match the pink folders and that his daughters love it because he leaves the house, and they know he's going to make some fiancé very happy. In terms of paperwork, I had brought everything I read I needed, a lot of it was duplicates of what I had already submitted, and they didn't ask me for it. The process went very smoothly and was super quick. For anyone stressed out about it, just come prepared and everything will be all good. In terms of "interview questions", he asked very basic questions, "where did you meet?", "When", fiancé's DOB. No crazy complicated questions.

I had an interesting experience, but rewarding. My interview was at 8:30am, arrived at the consulate at 8:15. The kind security guard asked the handful of us what our interview times were and or if we were there for passport renewals. At the 8:30 mark the same guard asked for the 8:30 appointments to make their way in. Placed cell phone in lock box (free), received a ticket with a number and proceeded to the elevator and went one floor up.
On the second floor you will find a cashier booth, and rows of booths. (Think of prison movies where you see inmates speaking with their loved ones). There are about 5 on one wall in the main room (where you are first called to give your documents) and on the other part of the room, down a hallway (L shaped) there are 5 more (these are where the interviews are conducted).
The numbers you are given pop up on the tv screen with a corresponding window/booth. When you are called up, you present your documents to the... read complete review

Husband completed interview early morning 08/01/2022.
Only needed to submit original birth cert, marriage cert, 2021 tax transcript.
Questions asked:
Who is the petitioner?
When did you get married?
Describe the wedding.
What does your wife do?
Confirm addresses.
Overall a 30 minute process and too quick for this long of a wait. We're at the end of the process!!

This consulate is kind of hard to find. It feels like it's down a side street that you don't readily notice. Given that we couldn't take our phones, and there were ZERO taxis that particular day, it made getting there difficult. Give yourself LOTS of extra time!

I had my 7:30am appointment. I grabbed a coffee at Second Cup and from the seat at the front of the coffee shop I could actually see if anyone was lined up. This area in Montreal so early can be a little sketchy still...so be careful! I ended up lining up outside around 7:00am. We lined up in order of time...7:30am first and the person behind me had their appointment at 7:45am.
About 7:35am a security agent came out and asked when my appointment was, I said 7:30am so he took me in. They asked for my passport immediately (so have that handy!) they checked for my name (cause you aren't getting upstairs without an appointment!) After they verified my name they put a sticker on the back of my passport and handed me 2 tickets (ie. I 634) that would appear on the televisions upstairs when they were ready for me.
Took my jacket off and placed my docs and cell phone through the x-ray. Then I powered down my cell and placed it in the small lockers. Entered the el... read complete review
