Interview November 2, 2022 at 9:45 AM
o Arrived at the consulate at 9:15 AM
o There was a line up of people and they seemed to be running behind. The security guard stepped out and asked if anybody had interviews at 8:45 or 9 AM and some people raised their hand.
o I finally got in at around 10:15 AM and went through security. They need your passport at this stage and they give you a ticket number which will be your number to look for on the screens. Do not bring your laptops. I only brought my wallet, phone, and my binder with me. I put my phone in the small lockers that they have and you take the key with you. All the security guards are very nice. You then take the elevator to the first floor and this is where you enter a large room with a lot of chairs and a screen to read your number.
o I waited until 10:45 AM and then I went up to one of the booths. At this stage, the lady collected my passport, original birth certificate (long version), original marri... read complete review

Very inconvenient for those living in western Canada. If you live in Western Canada, save well in advance for the cost of flights to Montreal.
Location is downtown and easily walkable from hotels.
The consulate experience itself was not that bad. Waiting outside in the rain while waiting for our appointment times to be called was the worst part. Also, the appointment time you’re given isn’t the time you’ll be interviewed, it’s when you’ll be allowed into the building by security.
Have all your documents easily accessible in a folder.
There is a water fountain inside. Although I’ve heard some people say they were allowed to bring a water bottle in.
Don’t bring a large purse because you’re only given a small small locker for your belongings.
Consulate agent was friendly and the interview itself is very quick and painless.

Check in took a while, maybe 15 min beyond my scheduled time but I showed up 30 mins prior and lined up outside. Went up stairs at around 805am, called to 1st window at 815-830, 2nd window at 845-9am. Interview was smooth, answered all their questions, provided all the docs and was put in AP (DS5535) which prolongs my timeline even more.

Very smooth experience. I was ultra prepared and had every document possible. I suggest you bring anything you can think of as they asked me for a tax return I didn't expect. The agent was super nice and the interview lasted 2 minutes. They just asked my longest trip to US (to check I'm not lying), when I first visited my spouse and when we married.

I had my interview on Nov 14th, 2022 at 8:30 am and was approved.
I carried all the documents that I had uploaded for NVC: Sponsor's i864 and taxes docs, Joint sponsor's i864 and taxes docs, all my civil documents. They only asked for the original police certificate ( I had 2 original and 1 copy but they accepted that), my birth certificate and marriage certificate.
I showed up at the consulate around 8:20 and was let in immediately. There were no line ups fortunately (when I was leaving around 10 am, there was a line outside of about 12-15 people).
Inside the building, first thing was security. That took a good 10-15 minutes. There were 3 families in front of me. Mine was done in less than a minute. Deposited my cell phone and apple watch in the locker and up I went. It took about 50ish minutes for my number to be called and I submitted all the documents at the first counter. This is where the first set of fingerprints were taken. As ment... read complete review
