Alrighty. My interview was scheduled for 10:30am but I got to the consulate at 8am and they let me in. A lady checked my name off a list after seeing my loomis confirmation. Security was fine the elevator ride was good, and it was nice to know which door to face though it didn't matter since there were only 2 other people other than my husband and me. Oh whale.
Anyways the visa receptionist gave me my number and almost immediately after settling down I got called up to window #2. This part seemed a little tense. I had all these papers with me and I was super prepared but I fumbled a lot and she asked for very little. Out of everything I had with me, including husband's birth cert., like they asked for, I only gave her my original marriage cert, birth cert, police checks (I had two, for reasons) and i-864ez.
The woman had a "no nonsense" attitude it felt like but I made her smile ONCE. After she collected my documents she made me scan my fingers and thumbs on the finger s... read complete review

Thanks to all of the help that I got here I went to my interview well prepared.

we took the train to Montreal from Ottawa the day before and picked up my medical at Medisys.
My visa interview was for 10am and we decided to go for 9am.
It was crazy windy in Montreal today so we traveled all but the last three blocks underground.
We arrived just after 9am and I showed my Loomis and passport. My Husband was with me and he showed his passport to.
We were the only ones in the elevator and when we arrived at the 19th floor there was no one at the podium. In a few minutes she arrived and I was given #11.
I went and sat down on the left side facing the clock. By now it was 9:10. In about 10 minutes I was called to window 1 where I gave in my original birth Certificate, Marriage certificate, police check, passport, pictures, appointment letter.
I went back to my seat and waited. The even numbers were still at #8.

Review Topic: Other Experience

My fiancé had his medical today with Dr.Cheema. Everything went smooth and now he's waiting for his interview. He said the staff and doctor were really friendly. There were a couple changes from what we previously read about the medical. Now the fee is $285 and they will take cash or debit. Also, they now require 4 passport photos. The lady at the desk told him she was pretty sure that he would just need 2 at the interview. If you need more made, there is a London Drug store close by and they do passport photos. The only inconvenience about this trip is the wait time from the medical to the interview. My fiancé is from Edmonton so he had to fly to Vancouver and stay for 5 nights to get all of this done. Interviews were only scheduled for Tuesdays and a day between the medical is needed to pick up results so he has to stay the whole weekend to accomplish all of this. We are both so excited that this is almost over!

Interview - Nov 10 (Mon) at 9:30am (APPROVED!)

I live in Vancouver so had to fly coast to coast for my interview. However, I used my mileage and paid only $180 for a round-trip airfare ($940 on Expedia!). AND I stayed at my friend's house in Montreal so I paid $0 for staying there!

The night before the interview, I couldn't fall asleep until 2am because I go to bed around 12:30am (PST) so 2am (EST) was 11pm (PST) for me! I got up at 6am (EST) so slept for only 4 hours!

I arrived at the US Consulate in Montreal at 7:40am. The door was still closed and there were only four people waiting in front of the building. Since my interview was on Monday in Montreal (party city), I figured out that all COs (Consular Officers) went to bed around 3am after a party so nobody was at work at 7:40am. I went to McDonald's for breakfast (not Tim Hortons since I wanted to eat American breakfast before my US Green Card interview).

I went bac... read complete review

So I had my interview yesterday morning! After 16hrs (total round trip) in the car, the interview itself took less than 5 minutes!!!

My dad and I drove up the day before and stayed in the Holiday Inn hotel in china town. It's a nice 10 minute walk to the consulate from the hotel. It was dark when we got to the city, so we didn't do much sight seeing or anything... And I was a little on edge with all of my paperwork - I didn't want to leave it anywhere for very long. It was a lovely hotel though and the people working there for very lovely.

But anyway, the consulate review!

I arrived at 7am in the pouring rain. My dad and I sat in the car for 15 mins before I got out and stood in the rain. I had no cell phone with me, no bags, no purse, nothing but my two folders full of papers. There isn't really anywhere to stand if it's raining but I was pressed right up against the windows by the doors.

5 minutes after having stood there... read complete review
