Review Topic: IR-1/CR-1 Visa

I arrived at 8:40am and went right in. A woman checked my Loomis registration then I went though security. I brought my phone, and they tagged it and gave me a tag, it wasn't a big deal. I went down stairs to the elevator and went up by myself. Once I got to the 19th floor the receptionist looked at my interview letter and gave me number 23. Saylin's drawings were accurate, check them out.

At 9:20 I was called to window 3. I gave her my originals of my birth certificate and marriage certificate (I had done EP), then the I-864s and transcripts. I brought the past 3 years as that's what I submitted to NVC, but the only took the most recent years (2013). She took my fingerprints gave me the sheet about domestic violence and then I went to sit down again. I was at window 3 for about 15 minutes total.

At about 10:20am I got up to use the washroom. As I was walking to the washroom my number was called to window 7 which is on the way to the woman's bathroom, so... read complete review

Hubby's interview couldn't have gone smoother.

We stayed at Le Square Phillips, just about a block away from the Consulate. On the pricier side, but would recommend for the convenience.

Interview was scheduled for 9 AM, but after reading on Visa Journey that they operate more on a "first come first serve" basis, we decided to wait outside at 7 AM until they opened the doors at 7:30 AM. Two people were ahead of us, but for different visas. It was a blizzard outside, so it was very cold but well worth it! I stood with him until the doors opened then went back to the hotel to wait for him.

Because we got in line first for Cr-1, everything went very quickly. The "interview" wasn't an interview at all really - they asked him where he worked, where I worked, my address and that was it! All of this took place behind a glass window. He was done with everything by 8:30 AM and said everyone was pretty friendly.

Saylin's pictures/maps of... read complete review

I had an interview at Montreal Consulate early December 2014. My experience is indeed positive. Unlike the other US consulates I've been so far, the security guards were well behaved. I liked the consulate atmosphere. There was no line up and first come first served. In the interview room, the lady at front desk was so nice and cheerful and easily responded our questions and was trying to reduce our stress. I was called to drop off my documents 10 minutes after my arrival and then had to wait for about one hour for the interview. The officer who interviewed me was SO nice. No difficult and unexpected question. The interview took about 10 minutes. GC was approved finally

VISA APPROVED!!

I'm going to do this in point form, hopefully it will help some. Everyone was really nice and straight forward with what they needed.

*Got to 1155 St.Alexandre at 7:20am. 20 mins early. 6 people ahead of me. Guard let in people one or two at a time. He directs you to your left, bottom of steps, where a woman confirms you do indeed have an appointment AND have signed up for your loomis/dhl

*Walk up stairs (5-6 steps) wait at a door to proceed and do a security check. They took my coat and everything in my coat in one bin. And my papers/folder/passport in another. took a whole 60 seconds. I brought a small wallet and my car key. That's it. no bags allowed anyway

*After security they tell you to take a door on the left downstairs and to wait in the designated area. There is a photo booth there. 10$ for pictures. STAY NEXT TO THE ELEVATOR (i wouldn't have known if it wasn't for VJ <3) They scree... read complete review
