I got there at 7am on a freezing day (with wind chill down to -20 degrees Celsius). I was the first one there. There was no formal lineup outside (so please stand close by the door if you want to get in first!). The door opened at 7:35am. Then we were seated in the basement outside the elevator after security check (again, anyone can sit anywhere regardless of when they come, so if you have your interview first, please sit close to the elevator). We were allowed to go upstairs to the 19th floor at 8am. There was a visa check in desk right in front of the elevator on the 19th to check people in. I was given "application #1" waiting ticket. A few minutes later, I was called to window 1 to submit all originals and proof of financial support. It took about 10 minutes. Then I was seated again and I was not called until around 8:45am (I was the first immigration interview of the day). The interview process took about 5 minutes. Here were the questions:
1. How long have you be... read complete review

I meant to write my review just after my interview and completely forgot.
I had my interview Sept 22, 2014. The time was for 7:40AM.
My hotel was only about a 7 minute walk away, so it gave me less time to panic about being on time, haha.
As i walked down to the doors, there were already a few people waiting in line. Finally the line started moving, but they only let in one person at a time. I was pretty nervous, even though from the reviews on the website, i had an idea about what was to happen.
Finally, my turn. Go in, show passport and appointment letter. The lady confirmed and i proceeded up the stairs to where security was. It's like your airport security really. The men were very nice, which put me at ease about my nervousness.
After security, you get sent through a door and walk down a bunch of stairs. Then, you reach where there is a bunch of rows of chairs and a blocked off elevator. It's hard to tell how long... read complete review

We did a DCF in Canada. Yes, I know, they say you can't do that anymore. Wrong
The truth is that you CAN do it if you fall under one of the exceptions that they recognize. The trick is getting someone, anyone, to read past the opening line of your email to see that you actually do qualify as an exception.
I wrote to every single address, at least three times each, that is available for US embassy and the consulates in Calgary, Vancouver and Montreal. I wrote to departments that had absolutely NOTHING to do with getting a Permanent Resident Visa for my husband. One of the completely unrelated departments was kind enough to forward my email and request to an actual person, a live human being, in the Montreal office. They in turned agreed to submit our request for an exception to Washington. It was approved and we were off on the paper chase.
The consular supervisor in Montreal was very thorough and helpful. She treated us like peo... read complete review

It went smoothly. We had a 10:30 appt. and showed up about an hour early. There was no line. We waited about 20 mins to see the first window and submit more paperwork. Then it was a longer wait for the actual interview, which actually occurred around 11:30. It lasted about 3 minutes. Where did we meet? Where does your husband live? What is his job? What is my current job?
And voila -- approved. We feel very fortunate to have gone through this process so quickly.
Packet was received at Loomis in Vancouver (Burnaby) 3 days after interview.
