Ever since we started our K-1 visa process this website has been a great source of information and all my questions have been answered. Although there are numerous reviews for each consulate, I feel like I should add to it.

My interview was yesterday and I got approved. My appointment was at 7.40AM on August 21, 2015. I stayed at the Le Square Phillips Hôtel & Suites which is just one block away from the consulate and only about 3 blocks away from Medisys, where I had completed my medical on Monday (they need three days for processing and I picked up results on Thursday afternoon).

I arrived at the consulate at 7.15AM since I had heard that people arrived anywhere after 7AM and there were about 10 people in a line outside the entrance. At around 7.30 security put up a line. A few minutes later a lady showed up asking people for people with immigrant visas to come forward. I was given a number (#4) and asked if I had signed up for Loomis express and sent t... read complete review

Just want to share my experience with the interview for the IR-1 visa at the Montreal, Canada consulate.

My interview was on Wednesday, August 19 2015. First of all, I was approved, and domicile was a major issue in my case. If domicile is an issue for you at the US consulate and you're worried, I suggest you read this post.

My appointment time was 9:30AM. I arrived pretty early, around 7:15 because I read on here that sometimes people with later appointments are let in early and it speeds things along for them. I don't know if they did that in the past, but they don't seem to be doing it now. The lady at the door advised me to come back at 9:15.

I went back to my hotel for about an hour, it was pretty close by. I ended up arriving back at the consulate at 9:00, a little earlier than she had said, but it was fine then and she just let me go through. I don't think it really mattered that much, I would say anywhere from 15 to 45 minutes before... read complete review

I'm writing for my fiancee. We over prepared and from what she told me, the guy was quite satisfied knowing we lived in the same city for several years and had been dating for months in person before we started on this process. They asked a few questions, but I heard that you stand in a wide open area and answer all these questions about your life in front of all the other applicants. The interview took 10 minutes.

Since Vancouver reviews seem to be rare...

First my medical with Dr. Cheema:

I went for my medical with Dr. Cheema on Friday August 14th. My appointment was at 11:45. I showed up early, but there was definitely no room to squeeze me in. This office gets VERY busy. Non-stop from what I saw. I waited until about 11:45 when I was called up to the desk where they took all my information. They needed my passport, another piece of photo ID, 4 passport photos, vaccination records, and the interview letter. I had already made copies of everything, but if you haven't done that, they will need to do it for you. The girl at the desk will confirm if you have had chicken pox, and when you had them. Then, it's back to waiting for Dr. Cheema. I waited another 5 minutes or so then was called up. The nurse checked my weight and height, then had me take a seat in the office. I didn't wait long for Dr. Cheema to make his appearance. He is a lovely man. Quite personable. For... read complete review
