Interview was this for 8:30am, I arrived to the consulate by 7:45 as I’ve read about the long lines. The security officer will call out appointment times and will take you out of line once it’s your time. Went through security and waited in the waiting room until my number was called. I waited approx 20 mins, was asked to give passport, marriage certificate, birth certificate, criminal record check, one passport photo and 2022 taxes, took about 5-10mins. Waited another 30-40 mins until my number was called for interview. The officer asked; who is my petitioner, how did we meet, when did we get married, is it both of our first marriages, what does my spouse do for living, what was my longest stay in US, if I was ever denied entry, overstayed a visa, or have committed a criminal offence, where I travelled in the last 5 years. The officer then advised she will be approving my visa and I’ll receive it in the mail in 2 days. Overall the interview itself was under 5 minutes. I ... read complete review

I had a wonderful experience at the Montreal Embassy. After such a lengthy process (17 months - 524 days exactly) we were approved on the spot! I stressed out so much about the interview process and getting my approval, and in the end, it was easier than I could have hoped. They approved us based on my husband’s assets alone, which I did not expect after the NVC suggested a joint sponsor (we didn’t end up needing one!). Everyone at the embassy was SO kind, especially the woman who collected my documents when I first went in and the officer who ultimately approved my case. I am feeling so very grateful and could not have had a better experience at the embassy in Montreal - what a relief!

Despite being incredible stressed prior to waiting for the interview, it went very smoothly!
I brought everything on the list and then some so I felt prepared but also worried I did not have everything.
I arrived 20 minutes before, my interview was at 9:15am. When I got in line, they were calling 9am, and the 9:15 immediately after since there were no 9ams waiting. Still had to wait for those in front of me who had a 9:15 slot.
Once they let me in, I gave my passport where a sticker was put on the back and two slips with my number were put inside my passport. Then went through security, and up the elevator to the consulate floor. Sat down and waited until my number came up on the screen. I was called up to the first window for document collection where they asked for the following:
- Passport & one of the number slips given to me during the security entrance
- Original Birth Certificate
- Original Police Certificate
- Original ... read complete review

My (Mia) interview in late May was relatively simple (thankfully!). It was at 8:30 AM (I think earlier interviews are generally better because there's less waiting: by the time I got out at 9:30, there was a long line outside), and I ended up arriving there at between 8:28-8:35 (I didn’t check exactly), at which point I was asked what I was there for and asked to go through the security protocols. I took a tote bag and was able to bring it in to the interview.
The first portion was very simple, though accompanied by about 30 min of waiting: I was only asked for my original birth certificate, original police certificates (which they kept), and the original marriage certificate. I think this depends on the person though.
After another 30 minutes of waiting, I was asked to go to another window for the actual interview. I was pretty nervous, but it wasn’t too bad! These are the general category of questions I remember:
1. They asked me... read complete review

The waiting process was a few hours, however it was painless.
The staff at the consulate know that everyone entering for interviews are nervous and they are immensely kind and helpful.
My appointment was scheduled for 9am.
I entered and was asked to remove all electronics and put them into a little locker. Took the elevator up to the first floor and sat down with my given numbers.
It took about 45m for me to be called for the first time. I was called up to a window to provide all of my documentation.
The officer requested:
- Passport
- Birth Certificate
- Appointment Confirmation (Showing that fees were paid)
- US Passport Style photos (2)
- Financial Support Documents
- Any additional documents of support...
The officer took all of my documents and advised me to return to my seat and the interview officer would call me up for the rest.
Around 11am I was finally called for my inte... read complete review
