My interview was scheduled at 9:30AM. I had heard mixed reviews about people showing up too early/getting sent away. I arrived in line at 9AM with 10 people in front of me. After entering the building I was asked for my interview letter and the lady proceeded to give me a form for returning my passport. I had not registered my appointment until earlier that morning (https://ais.usvisa-info.com/en-ca/iv) - long story but I didn't realize I had to do it until I found something here on VJ the night before, so I had a last minute panic and did the morning of the interview. Regardless it was no problem, I would have be okay if I hadn't.
Security check was fine, I was prepared and left everything I didn't need at the hotel. Saw someone turned away with bags, and some others had security go through their small purses in great detail. I would recommend leaving as much as you can in your car or hotel and just bringing the... read complete review

Hi All,
I had my interview at the US Consulate Vancouver on Tuesday, December 1st scheduled for 8AM. I arrived at 7:15AM and there was already a line-up of around 20 people. The security guard asked me what I was there for and I said K-1 visa t 8AM. He told me to come back at 7:45AM, so perhaps the standard is to just arrive 15 minutes early. I went to the Marriott Pinnacle hotel and used the iMacs in their business center for ½ an hour, which was a great way to burn the time as I hadn’t brought any electronics with me. They also have free printers so if you have forgotten to print something off last minute that is a free place to do so.
I returned at 7:45AM and there were two women in red coats at the sidewalk checking people’s documents. They want to see your DS-160, Passport and medical results. After she checked that that was all okay, I got in line, waited for around 5 minutes, then got up to the front. Another lady checked all my documents and ... read complete review

Had my interview December 1 in Montreal. I woke up early to give myself enough time to arrive at the consulate at 7, as suggested by other reviews. I got there just after 7 and there were about 5 people already in line. Everyone was kind and we chatted about our respective visas etc. At around 7:30 a guard came outside to set up cordons so that we could form a single file line to the right of the door. Soon thereafter we were let in one at a time, where we presented our appointment letter to a woman who checked the info on the appointment letter against what I'm guessing was a schedule of the day's appointments on an ipad. Passed through an airport-like security situation and had to check my phone and water. We were sent to the basement where we waited another 10 minutes or so, until we were told to take an elevator up to the nineteenth floor. When we exited the elevator a woman directed the crowd to the left if they were there for a visa and to the right if we were there for an immigr... read complete review

I am the petitioner, writing on behalf of my fiancee.
Our interview was scheduled for 7:40 AM on Monday, so we spent the weekend touring Montreal with friends. We stayed at an apartment about a 10 minute walk away.
We arrived at the consulate at 7:05, and there were already a few people in line (about 3 different groups, it looked like). We lined up behind them against the wall to the left of the doors as described and waited. There is a Starbucks right across Rene-Levesque, so I ran over there and grabbed us some coffees, as it was rather cold (20F, -5C). In the 10 minutes or so I was gone, about 5 other applicants arrived, so we were glad we got there so early.
Around 7:30 AM, the security guards came out and put up stanchions to organize the line against the wall, and a lady told us to get our passports and DS-160 confirmations ready.
At 7:40, they began admitting people inside one group at a time. As has already been stated, do NOT bring any bags, not ev... read complete review
