Family based - Sister who is Citizen sponsored married brother.
- Reading other forum reviews, we went early 7 am - were first in line. Remember have to wait outside - so beware about weather (rain or shine or snow) and dress accordingly. 7.15 onwards people started coming. 7.30 security guard door opens. Checks passport and DS 260. One lady had phone and I thought electronics/phone not allowed (even sign said) so she would have to go to her car and leave it - but when I saw her later there is a little storage they keep it and give token to claim it after interview. Best is not to bring phones, car keys etc but if you do then do not panic. [ For wheelchair users which I am, the main entrance is not accessible -has 3 to 4 steps-so they took me in from other side of building through other "secret" entrance. First asked me if wheel chair has batteries since electronics are not allowed-mine was manual ut had some battery -they went to ask supervisor and made exception to a... read complete review

I wasn’t able to accompany my fiancé to Montreal, so he gave me a quick overview of how it was. He flew out on 10/12 as his medical was at Medisys on 10/13 in the afternoon. He stayed with relatives outside the city for a week, and the visa interview was on 10/19 at 9:30am.
-----
The medical exam was easy - just a lot of paperwork and waiting around. They did a chest x-ray and general exam, gave a missing vaccine (tetanus only) and apparently starting on 10/1 they added an $80 urine test required by the U.S. That was an unpleasant surprise that was added to the total. I was told I could pick up the results on 10/18. I did and stayed in a hotel overnight on the edge of the city so I didn’t have as long of a drive.
I had intended to get there about 30 to 45 minutes early, but traffic was terrible, my GPS failed, and I managed to get lost. I ended up arriving at about 9:15am, and then forgot to leave my phone in the car and ha... read complete review

Arrived at consulate with all documentation required but was denied entry to the building because I did not bring a copy of the DS-160 application which stated in bold letters “Your Personal Copy - Do Not Bring to Interview“ the security guard said I could print the documents and return later that day. After arriving with the required form I was granted entry into the building. The employees were generally okay in a governmental “go stand over there†kind of a way. The whole process was very slow and I was there for several hours.

Medical:
The building was easy to find using GPS. We were in a rush that morning and forgot our packet 4, but the woman at the front desk allowed me to email that information to her- so try not to forget it, but don't panic if you do.
They called my fiancé back several different times, we were there for a few hours.
Also, starting October 1, they added an $84 urine test. So prepare for that extra money.
My fiancé brought his vaccination record, a record of a recent flu shot, and a letter from his Dr explaining that he used to take an anxiety medication, but is not in need of it anymore (they didn't even ask for this, but we had it prepared just in case). Prior to doing this medical, we made sure he had all of the vaccinations needed because we had read that they can be very expensive if you get them at Medisys- even the flu shot.
We did the medical on October 5 and picked the results up on October 11. ... read complete review
