I arrived at the embassy 6:35, I was the first in line and the first to be admited inside and the first to have the docs. checked...Any doc. was asked.I started to wait to be interviewd at 8:15, by 8:58 my number was called. He asked me to sign the DS230, took my finger prints and all were done in 2 minuts. I was out 9 am. Went down stairs to pay the TNT. I left the embassy at 9:10.
Easy and Fast.
Now only waiting my passport, hope to receive until Tuesday.

Well, the people at the consulate were very friendly in general. The girl that first checked the documents was very kind.
First this girl asks you to put the documents in a determined order, then you need to give the documents to these people (Brazilians) in cabines. The guy asked why the Tax Return of my Fiance was missing, and I said that the avidafit support instructions specified the Tax Return to Self-employed people, not to people with permanent jobs (my Fiance works for Accenture). He said it was WRONG, and that the consul would check if the finnacial proves were good enough...
This guy wasn't exactly rude, but I think it was very funny that he said what I mentioned was WRONG, because first it is in the instructions we got from the consulate (I read it again later to check), and second 4 other girls I talked to said their Fiances did the same thing, no Tax Return.
Anyway, that wasn't WRONG or a problem after all. After we got fingerprinted, the consul calle... read complete review

Important for those American Citizens awaiting a Security Clearance - Engaged to a Foriegn National
Yesterday, July 27th 2010
We arrived at the Consulate at 610 am. There was a line with about 5 women in front of us. Everyone was very nervous, including myself, Me and my fiancee awaited the assistance of the workers (consulate ambassadors) whom wore vests that said "Immigration Services, May I help you?" on the back. The workers came outside and handed us a small ticket that would accompany our cell-phones which we left at the entry point. When we left we needed to provide them with the first part of the ticket for verification to receive our cell-phones when we left the consulate. At about 715 exactly we entered the building and walked upstairs to the second floor where we entered a room that was to be our waiting place for checking of our documents (2x) and then finally the actual interview which was in a small room that was also inside the same sitting ... read complete review

Interview scheduled for 7:15 am.
Awoke this morning with excitement yet the wife was beyond nervous, for it has been almost a year wait. Off to the vehicle we go, and ohhhh no,its a sunny day yet linha vermello is at a standstill, and im not talking the usual brazil traffic,i mean a parking lot. As i watch the clock tick, tick tock my nervousness begins to set it, 6:45,7:00;7:15 and we have moved about 100 feet it feels, time to put the nyc driving into effect, down the on ramp we go,breaking all traffic rules (like they exist in brasil) arrive at avenue brasil and yet more traffic at least its moving 7:45 and still in traffic. Finally arrive park the car, skip the line and enter the building its now 8:35, from here everthing goes silky smooth. All required documents have already been submitted, received and accepted, only had to do the photo again, something with the hair not pulled back(small issue, went to post office same block).
9:45 we are called, only a document check,... read complete review

I got there at 6:45 and there were 5 girls waiting in line with their Americans fiancés. At 7:15 other 4 girls got in line and I felt awkward... 9 girls and I was the only guy.
We went to the second floor and a woman made the first check on my documents... They made me wait at a room with the others, and I started to imagine if they keep an eye on that room...
They call me to a privet room, and I gave all my documents to a guy. He asked me if it was me who fill in all the forms... I said no, "it was my layer!"... "Have you double checked all the information?"... Yes sir, 5 times only in the last hour!"... He laughed, gave me a few documents back, than retuned to the other room...
I had to wait for all the girls to do the same thing... Another hour has passed when the first password was called to the Consul's room. The funny part is that Americans are not allowed in that room, only the Brazilians.
The girl stayed there for abo... read complete review
