Scheduled for May 5 2016 via NVC notification, trip planned... and then a new letter to reschedule to May 25 for reasons beyond consulate control.
ACS contacted in at consulate in Rio via email and they let us come at originally scheduled time.
2 hours from time slot scheduled to approval on May 5. Staff friendly and helpful.
Doctor's package arrived May 13 to consulate.
Still awaiting passports and visa in the mail as of May 21.

My fiancé couldn't attend the interview with me, so I went there with my mom. My interview was scheduled for 8h20, but we got there around 6h45, as I live in the other side of the city and was afraid of getting stuck in traffic. So, at 6h45 we waited in line until 7h, the moment when we got it. NOTE: cellphones aren't allowed in the Consulate, so if you need to bring yours, you can leave them with some guys who keep your phone for you. My mom paid R$16 for both our phones.
Ok, so then we walked in and went upstairs, where Alex gave us a form and instructed us on how to fill it out. He is very helpful! The interview itself was very nice, the consul is a nice guy and asked a few questions. Everything very punctual. At the end he said "your passport will be ready in about 2 weeks". =D

Of course we were tense, but everything was organized and went well!
Our interview time was 9:20 and we arrived at the consulate by taxi an hour earlier (talk to the security guard and tell them you're there for an immigrant visa, so that you don't wait in the tourist line). After going through the metal detectors, we went up the stairs and into the waiting room. Alex placed us in specific seats, since there is an order to be followed.
We had to fill out two forms and wait to be called to the window, where a receptionist made sure we had all the necessary documents and they were in the right order. Then we waited again for our turn to interview.
The interview was very short. The questions were:
- How long have you been married? (4 years) Do you currently live together? (yes) - after this, no other relationship questions were asked.
- Has my husband ever been to the U.S. bef... read complete review
