Arrived (walking from Santos Dumont Airport, quite nice to be so close) at about 7:30 for an 8:20 interview. After paying R$10 to some guys on the street to keep each cell phone (didn't want to be in another city without them) we were ushered right in. They allowed us to take a stroller and it was pretty painless to bring in my son's diaper bag as well. When we got upstairs we were instructed to sit in a specific row and waited until the famous Alex called my wife's name. I brought a ton of documents, but they only wanted the basic ones from the interview letter and my financial support documents (only wanted last years tax form). From there, moved to the first row of seating and waited to be called to the window. Each step only took 10 minutes max, person at the window looked at all the documents, gave us back our originals and told us to wait for the interview. Ten minutes later, we were called for our "interview", guy asked us what date we married and how we met and then said he... read complete review

My experience was pretty good at RDJ Consulate. My interview was scheduled 10:20AM, but we were there at 9:00AM. There was a small line to access the facility, but people on the line were there for mainly for Tourist/Business visas, and we used another entrance ahead this line, since our request was for a K3 Visa. We crossed the X-Ray area (bags and ANY electronic devices are not allowed) and we were oriented to go upstairs at the 2nd floor. Once there Alex asked us to sit down and wait. 15 minutes later, he called us and gave a checklist form and oriented to put the documents in that order. 15 minutes later he checked if all the documents were there and in order. Everything was ok, and he asked us to wait. After 20 minutes, a woman called us to pre-check the documents. She returned the copies of the documents, opened the Medical Exams and gave to me my vaccination certificate, because it is valid in USA and I will need it. She also collected my fingerprints and asked me to wait for th... read complete review

very organized, make sure to get there early because after 8AM starts to get crowed
I was the third person to arrive, at 7AM and everything went smoothly
Alex was really helpful and he's funny, he tries to calm everybody's nerves
they handle you a sheet to put the documents in order, very simple
make sure to get the right police certificates, I saw two couples who had the wrong ones
consul asked me like four questions and said the magical words "your visa was approved!"
he was very serious and direct, the interview lasted 3 minutes
