The interview went well and lasted lass than 5 minutes, the officer was very polite and asked a few questions like When did we first meet, weeding plans and if my fiancee had ever visited Brazil before. The whole process took about 2 hours, most of it was waiting to be called for the interview.

It is important to notice that I was asked for documents that were not listed at the consulate's website, like a copy of the US Citizen's birth certificate or passport.

Had my interview on August 28 at 7:20. Arrived at the building at 6:50 and was allowed in at 07:10. Victor led us all in, gave us a list of documents to prepare and a form to fill in. Interestingly enough, they did not ask for evidence of relationship - during the interview, they referred only to the evidence we had submitted with our petition.

After twenty minutes or so, I was called to hand in the documents and have my fingerprints taken - the officer was incredibly polite and friendly. Then back to waiting: this time for the interview. As the consul started interviewing the applicant next to me, another booth opened and called my name. Another very friendly officer welcomed me, asked questions about how and when my fiancée and I had met, if and when she had met my family, when I had met hers, what the wedding plans were. After returning my expired passport with my valid tourist visa, she wished me all the best and I found myself a little stunned at how smooth and ... read complete review

Interview was great. Questions asked:
- how you met?
- how does your fiancee do for a living?
- where does he live?
- how many times have you seen each other?
- when was the last time you saw each other?

The consulate staff were friendly and ready to answer questions. They reviewed the documents being submitted and soon I was waiting to be called for the interview. The consul was serious and went straight to the point. In English, she asked me to tell her my story with my fiance and then how he proposed. At the end she said all my rights and that was it. Easy and quick.

The operational process itself was ok. We arrived at the location very early and were forced to wait outside by the alley behind the building. Others started to form a line and it was fine. We were then escorted into the building and taken upstairs into a waiting room with a few interview windows. I forgot his name but they had a young man assist us during the process to make sure everything was filled out correctly and he was VERY nice and VERY informative. He did a great job.

As far as the interview goes we were asked about 3 very generic questions and then the officer denied our visa based on some information he had on the computer. We tried to rebut the information based on paperwork we had but he wasn't listening and didn't care much for it. I was extremely frustrated at this point, I kept my cool but it was his lack of empathy and lack of willingness to listen to us that frustrated me.

He had already made up his mind on our case before we w... read complete review
