After 3 years of paper work and submissions, and many videos of how an interview might go, I expected a formal interview. It was my wife's second green card. We have been married for 33 years and had to surrender the first green card when she remained in Brazil to care for her ailing mother. We traveled to Rio from Fortaleza, during the Covid pandemic.
We did her bio-metrics at 7:15 at the ASC, maybe a 20-minute drive away from the consulate. Arrived at the Consulate at 7:40, and discovered that only the beneficiary could enter the building. I had done all the paperwork, so knew it better than my wife, but only she was allowed to enter. So husbands/family members, be prepared for a 3-hour or 4-hour wait on the sidewalk or a coffee shop across the street.

The Consuls were all very kind and the interview was brief and cheerful! They confirmed a few details regarding our meeting, and that it was to be both of our first marriage. They asked about our wedding plans. There were many smiles and they helped my fiance feel at ease.

Minha entrevista foi originalmente marcada para à s 12:40pm, mas eu recebi um email do Consulado remarcando para as 10:40am. Cheguei no Consulado as 10am, fila enorme na porta! Eles estavam chamando por nome de acordo com a ordem de horários, não por ordem de chegada. O Consulaod apesar de ter me mandado email, nao mudou o horario no sistema 🤦ðŸ½â€â™€ï¸ então só fui chamada para entrar lá dentro por volta de meio dia. Eles não permitiram meu marido entrar comigo. Entrando lá, passei pela recepção onde eles conferiram se eu tinha todos os documentos. Me chamaram no guichê, NÃO olharam meus documentos e falaram que eu podia guardar tudo pois não ia precisar mais 👀.
Depois disso esperei mais 2 horas e 20 minutos para chamarem meu nome. Enquanto isso eu estava prestando atenção na reação de todos que estavam saindo da entrevista. De onde eu estava sentada conseguia ver um dos guichês de entrevist... read complete review

Interview went great, nice CO, asked a couple of questions about when we met, when we decided to date, when we got engaged and how many times I had been to the US.
