Approved....... Almost to easy....... Took about 5 mins. for K-3 visa interveiw. I was allowed to attend interveiw with wife and daughter. Went to the interview room told the man I was the USA Spouse and if he cared if I came in for interview. He looked up and said by all means come in. Asked basic questions like how we met, how long we knew each other. When and where we married and what I did for a living. He asked me as many questions as he asked my wife and daughter. My wife had a bundle of supporting information like photos, emails etc. They did'nt even ask to see. They are now home with me and every thing went fine at the poe in Chicago as well. Only problem we had was missing our connecting flight at Chicago. The security check was very slow in Sao Paulo was in line 2 1/2 hours. So if flying out of there allow sufficent time to make connecting flights. We missed our... read complete review

I flew to Rio to attend the interview with my fiancée. We stayed in "Hotel OK" (www.hotelok.com.br) which is easily within walking distance. On the morning of the interview, we woke up early, forced ourselves to eat breakfast (we were very nervous) and then arrived at the Embassy shortly before 7:30am. Not to our surprise, there were already people in line. The young woman behind us in line was alone but seemingly speaking to her fiancé because her English was a vivid contrast to the sea of Portuguese otherwise exclusively heard. Shortly before 8am, a woman emerged and began sifting through the belongings of those of us waiting in line. As soon as we cleared her inspection, we were allowed inside. Thanks to VJ, we planned ahead and left all electronic gear in the hotel so that we weren't required to leave anything with security. After passing through the metal detectors, wandered our way upstairs and a guard handed us a number from the "senha" dispenser. Shortly after 8am, a woman ap... read complete review

My fiance was one of the first to be called. I showed up late, knocked on the door and went in to the little cube. The consul made some jokes with me, asked a question about my co-sponsor, and how I learned Portuguese. Before I showed up, the only important question he had for my fiance was how we met. It was over in five minutes, he congradulated us and we were off.

It was no big deal. The lady only talked about the house I had just purchased in 2004 and wanted to know if this was where we were going to live. She spoke with Lucas more than I about how we met and how he feels about leaving his country. She was a very sweet woman. She approved us and sent us on our way!

ok i was all nervous for nothing!!
we arrived at the consulate at 7:15am we were third in line.
at 8am they started to let everyone in. the 1st 2 couples non-vj members were missing documents. so they had to go and get copies we handed all of our documents in and waited to be called. the first two couples returned and they alowed them to hand in there copies. we were second to be cslled in for our actuall nterview. Since i had lived in brasil for a year and a half he asked me if i wanted to have the interview in portuguese or english. I chose portuguese. he asked us how we met where do we intend to live? if we had any other pics, which we showed...the whole interview was about 10 minutes
and we were done.. almost 2 easy!!!!! my advise dont sweat it!!!
