Easy, easy, easy!!!
My fiance was with me, what made things even more easier - plus we had every single form checked twice. But the most important thing seemed to be the Affidavit - so go prepared.
The interviewer was a nice, very polite lady. She asked a few questions previously answered in the forms - probably to make sure we weren't lying.

Don't worry guys. The hardest part is the LONG wait. Bring a book and breath deeply.

My interview experience was very good. After so many months of stress, I feel the need of to say to all people that are going to the interview (in Rio de Janeiro) that nobody there in the consulate wants to keep you away from your loved one. The opposite...they are there to make it happen. Just make sure you have all they request and it will be quite smooth.
I went to Rio de Janeiro the day before my interview, because need to be there about 07:45am. My Hotel OK, was ok. I pay $60 with a good breakfest(summer is more expensive), the walking is about 5 to 10 minutes until the embassy. I went alone. So, before I used google maps to know my steps there.
I arrive there my 07:30 and there was about 6 people in this line for imigrants (some with the loved ones, some with mother, or sister or friend, they can go inside with you, for to talk with the consul just the fiance/fiancee can go together,... read complete review

We arrived at 715am and there was already 4 people in the "K-visa" line. We had all our papers in order thanks to VJ, and were able to to turn our documents in second...We had to wait for about and hour for the interview, which lasted 15 minutes. Our interviewer was Clara, and she was very friendly...laughing with us as we froze (they have good a/c at the consulate!). She asked us both a few questions, basics like where did we meet, what I did for a living, etc, etc. She made sure our visa went through quickly, as we had planned a flight for the following Sunday (ok, I was a little anxious, better to give more time if you don´t want to chance it). We received the packet by Friday.

Do your homework, look at the reviews, read the consulate info page and be prepared...it will help alieve any anxiety. Thank you Visa Journey!!!

We arrived the day before our interview on the 4th of Dec. We made sure that we had the correct fee from Citibank and check our list from Visa Journey twice. We went the day of the interview at 7am, and asked the guards which line we needed to be in, they were very helpful. When the admitted the K1's at around 8am we went upstairs and were the 4th people to have our visa papers checked for order and the first not to have to correct this. The order stated on the embassy page here is perfect. They took our papers and we waited for about another hour while all of the papers were imputed. We were the second interview called, it was very easy. Sandra and I were able to go together and the interviewer only asked us a few questions. How did we meet, how many brothers Sandra has and what hobbies I have. I think she was happy as well that I have learned Portuguese. 5 minutes later we were approved. The interview was on a Tuesday and we had the visa by that Friday. All I can say is t... read complete review

We arrived in Rio the day before our interview so we could pay the Citibank fee and figure out our way around. We stayed at the Windsor Austrias hotel, which is adjacent to the hotel ok and ambassador hotels. The nearest Citibank is on the next parallel street to the hotel(about one block away). We paid our fees, one for me and one for my son and this payment had to be in cash. The day of the interview we woke up at 5:45 and went to breakfast at 6:30. We left the hotel at 7:00 and arrived at the consulate at 7:10. The entrance for visas is on the side of the building and not on the Presidente Wilson entrance. There were two lines, one for non-immigrants and one for immigrants. I recommend asking the security guards which line to get in. At around 7:30 a nice guy came out and checked our names off on a list and wrote down the order in which we were in line. At 7:45 they started to let immigrant visa applicants in and through security. We then went to the second floor to a room and were ... read complete review
