Review Topic: General Review

After a postpone interview meeting from Tuesday to Thursday, was at Brussels embassy around 13:30pm (meeting was scheduled at 2:00pm). Waited outside for about 15min people ahead of me, some after. A security man came often to ask for reasons of presence. So, taking this into consideration, some people after me in line went first inside. Not much to complain but be aware this can happen.
When my turn came to go inside, passed same checking as the ones as in the airports. Purse has to be left in this room, just took my papers with me.
Took a ticket inside a waiting room. My number called I've been at a desk where a very smiling and effective man took all my papers. Was called a bit later for finger prints. Then another desk for the interview that latest about 15 min.
With people sitting behind you, there is not privacy when you tell about your history with boyfriend but I don't mind really, I won't never see those people again and the contact with the man behind the... read complete review

Review Topic: IR-1/CR-1 Visa

So, had the interview Oct 18th at the Embassy in Brussels... Got in there, 2pm, passed the securitycheck (easy) and went inside. Got myself a number, and waited for my number to display and walked myself to the counter. The lady was very nice, asked me for some documents and later she called me back to her window. I had one missing document. The Joint-Sponsor birthcertificate.. I completely fell out of the sky, I was totally clueless! Even though I had a missing document, she send me over to the Consul anyway. Had a smooth talk with him, simple question about how we met, when we decided to get married, had to show him some pictures and he asked me easy questions... Very relaxed and smooth, he cracked some jokes, he was easy going.. No worries! At the end of the interview he said I had that document missing, and to get it to him by next Tuesday (24Oct) and said 'than you should be fine' ... Hopefully that means approval... He did keep my passport and the whole file... We'll see what hap... read complete review

The interview was at 2PM. First there is a little security, you have to leave your bags outside the main building.

Inside you take a ticket, take a seat and wait until it is your turn.
When they call your number, you go to the counter and hand over all your paperwork. Then they take digital fingerprints and they put all the information from your paperwork in the computer, this takes about 30 minutes.

After those 30 minutes you have to go to another counter for the actual interview. In my case the man just had some questions about how we met, about how many times I've been in the states. Then i had to show my pictures, I had 5 pictures and just had to say who was on it (family) and where they were taken.

Then he said i was approved and they gave me a number, with that number i can pick up my visa next week

All people were very friendly, the lady at the first counter spoke dutch, french and english. The actual interviewe... read complete review

Very good experience. Employees were very helpful and friendly. They understand the stress we are going through.

BTW, I was able to get an earlier interview date. So do not hesitate to call and ask !

Only downside is the waiting time. It seems that everyone gets a 2:00 pm appointment so you end up spending the whole afternoon there. So my advise is to be standing in front of the door at least 30 min before.

It takes one week to get the visa after you have been approved your K1.
