Review Topic: K1 Visa

I'm writing this for my (now) husband just based on what he told me. The interviewer was nice, he spoke swedish in addition to english and german just like my husband. The interviewer showed him a google satellite photo of my home here in the US and asked him if it looked familiar. He said yes that is my fiance's home. I thought that was strange. He said he was just asking general questions like if we had met each other's family and friends, stuff like that. The would not mail the Visa to him, he had to stay in Vienna an extra day so he could go back to the office to pick it up the next day. Hope this helps someone!

Brief and low stress. Turned away because we arrived 15 minutes early. Came back in 15 minutes and after short interview they said visa was approved and to come back in two days to pick it up

Review Topic: IR-1/CR-1 Visa

Got an appointment for 1.00 pm, but as it turns out, all appointments are scheduled for 1.00 pm; by the time we got there, there was already a queue of people waiting for approval of mostly tourist visas.

After an initial document review (documents previously provided as well as the documents listed on the interview letter) we had to wait about 20 minutes for the actual interview, which lasted all of 5 minutes. They asked when we had met and if we had met our respective families (we had), and after answering those questions, I was told "all looks good, welcome to America". We had to wait about 5 more minutes to speak to another employee who asked us for a phone number where they could reach us to let us know the visa and my passport were ready for pickup.

All in all a very pleasant experience, minus the extremely grumpy security guard. She must have had a bad day, but nonetheless we left happy.

Review Topic: IR-1/CR-1 Visa

I arrived at the consulate a few minutes before 1pm (appointment time)and had to wait till 01:00pm before they´d let me in. there was hardly anybody there. they called me to window 5 and the first thing I saw there was the approved stamp well, I was pretty happy and relaxed after that. BUT then it was time for the interview. before the interview the interviewer looked over our papers over and over again, not looking happy. so of course I started getting nervous again. and then she grilled me! same questions over and over again, she would just mess up details that I´ve told her before. I think she wanted to test if I would catch all those little mistakes. after a while she told me "everything seems to be ok" and sent me back to window 5. there they asked me for my phone # and told me they´d call when the visa is ready. well, they called at 3:15pm the next day and by 4pm I had my visa in my hands
