Interview was very pleasent. Just a little bit of a wait a couple of questions and then approval. I took lots of paper work and proof of relationship but they didnt even ask to see it.
Just waiting now for the visa to arrive in the mail so i can fly out on Saturday.

I had a letter with the time of the appointment being 10:00am on Tuesday the 18th of November. I brought with me only what was asked for, namely my passport, the receipt showing I had paid their fee ($176AUD or so) and a 3kg express post envelope with my name and home mailing address written on to it.

I arrived at about 9:00am and made my way up to level 10 and showed my letter to security. He told me to come back at no earlier than 9:40am as I was too early. I went down to the building lobby and read a magazine and returned at or just after 9:40am. I had to turn off my mobile phone and put all my belongings through security scanners. My shoes set off the metal detector so they had to come off too. Then I left my bag and all electronic devices (mobile phone, iPod) with security on level 10 and only brought my paperwork with me (including photo albums, post cards, letters, cards etc).

I was swiped by security up to level 59 and went through security again t... read complete review

I arrived at the consulate super early, (7:15 am for a 9:00 am appt) and was told to come back at 8:30, luckily too, I realized that on my walk to the consulate I had lost my passport photos and now needed to find a photo store and have a new set taken. I found a kodak store in the MLC foodcourt that opened at 8 so I waited, and finally had them taken, the guy had some troubles with his printer, so after waiting till 8:40, I finally got the pics back, and the guy felt so bad he didn't even charge me.
Moving on, I raced back upstairs to the security, waited in line, handed over my cell phones, ipod, and handbag, and was sat in line. 5 mins later, was escorted up in the elevator to level 59. The lady at security on level 59 was in a bad mood, but no problems. Went inside, took a number and took a seat. I was called after about 20 mins to window 3 and got down to business with the guy behind the glass. He asked for my envelope, and I said, well, I didn't bring one as I was plannin... read complete review

Arrived about 45 minutes early for a 9am appointment having taken a lovely walk to the Consulate through Hyde Park from the hotel and I was asked to present my appointment letter and passport on arrival at the Consular 'checkpoint' on level 10. The security officer said I was a bit early and to come back at 8.30. I went back outside to take in the beautiful Sydney spring morning atmosphere. Back on level 10, a few others were there, we were security checked and escorted to the 59th level in batches. As I entered, a young woman who I'd seen going up earlier was leaving in floods of tears...it was a bit disconcerting! Once there I didn't wait too long (maybe 15 mins) for my number to be called and a friendly Australian lady asked for my appointment letter and packet 4 checklist, for my passport, photo, visa payment receipt and Express post envelope. Then she went through my paperwork, took my fingerprints, asked about my children (who are not going with me (they are 21, 19 and 16 and hav... read complete review

16 September, was the interiew date. We arrived at 7:15 and were told to wait until 7:30 before taking the elevators to the 10th floor. 7:30 we were on the elevator and much to our surprise once we got there were already two people waiting. We continued to wait, then the security people came and opened the doors to set up after 8:00. Once inside, we were instructed to have our appointment letter and identification in hand. We had to turn off cell phones and I had to leave my purse with them. My husband had to take off his shoes and belt. You are only allowed to take your papers with you. SO anything not associated with your case must stay in the assigned cubby! Security will then give you a number that you will return in exchange for your items.

Once everyone was screened, security escorted us to the elevators and pressed the button to the 59th floor. Once off the elevator, there is a sign that says go to the left which took you to another security check point.
