Had an 8am appointment, arrived at 7.30am went to level 10 waited about 15mins or so till they opened up. Showed Interview letter and passport went thru scanners and waited till about 8.20 and was in the first group to go up in Lift to level 59.
Got my Immigrant visa ticket and was called up about 10 mins after. Woman who did was nice said I was all prepared, noticed the Approval stamp on my paperwork (must have been from USA) asked me for passport and then told me to sit and wait for fingerprints (took about 5mins or so with her).
Fingerprints done about 10mins later, then told to go to middle area of the room to wait for Interview. Waited probably 10-15mins, then had Interview with a guy who asked me where we planned to live and had I lived in USA before. A bit of small talk about Pittsburgh and then he asked me for passport (which was underneath all the paperwork he had...lol).Signed one of the forms in front of him as well.
Told me I was approved and would rec... read complete review

The interview as quick, easy and painless. With the security check point and the waiting time it took approx 1 hour (majority waiting for my number to be called). They called me up 3 times. Once to show my interview letter and submit any other documents i was asked to bring with me (in my case my fee receipt and a return 3kg envelope), the second call was to get my electronic fingerprints and the third was the actual interview that lasted 5 minutes. They asked me a few simple questions eg "when do you plan to enter the USA" and "when do you plan to get married". I then signed some paperwork and was handed a document stating my visa has been approved. My passport and the 'brown envelope' will be sent to me this week. I should receive it by Friday!.

We arrived at the consulate; were cleared by security on level 10, then sent up to Level 59 where we took a ticket and waited for our number to be called.

The first guy we met with (it was a bit like being at the bank), just wanted to check we had brought in the information that the consulate had requested (receipt of payment, return pre paid postage bag, passport, 2xUS size passport photos and original birth certs).

Then we were told to wait while he processed the information, then we were sent to have my fingerprints done…. All up this took about 30 minutes.

Then we waited for our “interview”. Again, another bank teller situation. He didn’t look at any of our “proof of on-going relationship” , basically he just wanted to check that we knew that we had 6 months to leave Australia but only 90 days to get married once we enter the USA).

He then signed a form, told us the visa had been approved and said that I would ... read complete review

8:45am arrived at Consulate
9:00 cleared through security ( they certainly dont do anything to make it easy for you...bit intimidating)
9:10am - 9:15am called to the first teller, checked off the paperwork required (sent out on the interview supplement email). Luckily, my fiance was with me, and the guy processing the paperwork was from the neighboring US state to my Fiance.
9:25am Finger prints taked
9:50am "interview"...or not.
