My interview was at 9am, and I didn't want to spend a night in Sydney so I flew down at 5am that day. Which meant getting up at 2:30am. I landed in Sydney and headed for the airport link train. I bought the $25 return pass, and headed for St James station, as that's the closest one to the MLC centre. It was roughly 15 minutes by train, the train was PACKED though!

The MLC Centre:

It's a short walk to the MLC centre - it's easy to spot. I went into the bottom floor and there was a guy sitting alone at a desk, and lots and lots of elevators in a big circle room. Basically you turn left the second you get in the door. and then it's the first elevators on the right. You press the button upto floor 10, then follow the signs to the Consulate. It's basically turn right and follow the building, it's Suite 1010.

I went in and showed my passport and appointment letter to the security guard. Who then took my bags (I had a handbag, and a bag of eviden... read complete review

Firstly, I very appreciate all VJ member who supported me with a lot of information for my K1 visa has been approved.
Sydney consulate staffs did their work and I did my best on my interview today.
1. I arrived at 7:00
2. I went to Level 10
3. They checked my passport and interview letter
4. Waiting and lined up
5. I had been sent to Level 59 with another applicants and checked again with my passport and I opened a big and heavy door to enter to 59 office, and took a number ticket
6. A consulate offcer called me up to his or her booth
7. The officer checked all my documents
8. Let me sit back to chair and waiting
9. Called up and asked me several questions
10. Sat back to chair and waiting
11. Called me up again from another booth , my real interview had been started by another staff. The staff drilled me today. Ouch!!!......
Those were very basically but some of questions made me think why thi... read complete review

Well today was my big day and I have just arrived home from Sydney. I want to give a review in the hope it will help others, just as others' reviews helped me so very much.

Accommodation:
I read many people suggesting accommodation at Phillip St. Travelodge. I looked at the site and was not too impressed with the pictures so I looked around and happened upon Medina Classic Martin Place. It was cheaper this night ($165 total) and about 3-4 minutes walk to the MLC building. I arrived last night and walked into my room - I thought there had been a mistake. I expected a very basic studio room but what I got was a full 1 bedroom apartment. Complete with balcony, lounge room, full-sized kitchen, bedroom and of course bathroom. I was soooo impressed. I would highly recommend this establishment. The lady at the desk happily stored by bags post check out and she even printed me off about 12 pages from an email I needed to take to the consulate (free of charge, too).

Was possibly the hardest office I've had to get into in Sydney, but definitely worth it! I had to go through security, was then buzzed up to the actual floor the consulate is on. Fast elevator! Had to walk halfway around the building to get to all these places.

Got to a window, friendly American asked me for my passport, then buzzed me through. Caution, heavy door! I took a number from the machine as I walked in, sat down for maybe 5 minutes and then got called to a window. Lady had to sort out my paperwork, all was good. Then sat down for maybe 10 minutes, called to second window for interview. VERY friendly guy there, he had everything we had sent in right in front of him (big red APPROVED stamp on it!). Asked me a couple of questions, how we had met (he found our story really sweet!, asked if I had more recent photos which I did as my SO had visited since we last sent our proof in. And that was it, I was told that I had been approved and to expect my passport back in... read complete review
