Had my interview on May 1, 2012. Stayed in the Travelodge Hotel on Phillip Street, which I HIGHLY recommend. It took me about 2 minutes to walk down to the MLC centre. As You go up the escalators, you walk left from the reception desk and take to first set of elevators you see. Then go up to level 10, and walk around past various offices (if you see a lot of dentists, you\'re in the right place.)

Walking in to the US Consulate reception room ,you walk through the security checkpoint and give them your stuff to hold on to. I was allowed to take my water bottle as long as I took a drink of it in front of the security guy, which was good. Was so nervous my throat was ridiculously dry.

Waited to be called in to the elevator, then the security lady showed us in. People are definitely right about the ride making your ears pop, it was really quick! Up to the Consulate level, you show your passport to the lady behind the counter, she checks your name off a list a... read complete review

My interview is 11am. I got there at 1050am.
Go to MLC Centre level 10, going through security check, switch off mobile phone and other electric appliances. They put my bag in their storage and gave me a number for that. I'm only allowed to take my documents and wallets.

Me and another girl and guy waited there for the lift. After 2 minutes, a lady takes us into the lift and straight to level 59.

On Level 59, a lady behind counter asked for my passport, ticks it off her list and let me into a heavy gate.

Then take a ticket (They didn't tell you that) and take a seat, there was 20+ people waiting there already.

Waited 10 mins saw my number being called, then a lady behind the counter asked me to get the documents ready (as listed on pkt 4 email) and gave them to her one by one as requested. and asked me when are you flying to USA. Got my finger prints there, then she asked if I created a profile online. I said Yes. Then ... read complete review

I was very lucky that I got to fly into Sydney when most domestic flights were canceled due to the Brazil ash for that period of time. I got very nervous and did it wrong for the payment (the lady in the post office in Adelaide really confused me and she suggested the wrong way of paying the fee!!!!) The person in the document preview window was very nice. He gave me some extra some so that I could run to the closest post office and do another payment (glad that the consulate is in the middle of a very busy shopping area and the post office was no more than 1o minutes away).

It was a lady who finally interviewed me. Just be calm and answer all the questions she asks (like 'where do you meet? how did you meet? what is his job? ...no questions are challenging or difficult. It is all about the basic stuff.) She does not make me nervous at all and then I got approved!!

My return flight was canceled, not surprisingly. But I am happy that I could eventual... read complete review

so interview yesterday was fine. I got into Syd at around 7am and I caught the train to the city and was at the consulate by 8am. I had a coffee and just read a book in the downstairs foyer of the building. I went up at 10:50am for my 11am interview.

It was fairly straight forward, I left my bag with security and went up to the consulate. I took a number. They called me up and I gave a lady my envelope, my medicals and my passport + photos. I then sat down again to wait. They called me back about 10 mins later. The lady basically said all documents were received and when did I plan on going to USA. I said probably late April early May. She then said why don’t I hold off on issuing your Visa until after your 2nd wedding anniversary, that way the Visa can be issued “unconditionally” and it will save me having to apply for this later. I said yep that sounds good.

So I went and sat down again to wait for my “interview”. I was called up to... read complete review
